Abstract

According to Danaswara (2018), The work environment is a situation around the workplace that can give a pleasant, secure, reassuring, and comfortable impression to work. The work environment is one of the supporting factors at work, because the work environment is supportive, making it work optimally and producing a good performance. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of the work environment on employee performance at Siantar Hotel, Pematangsiantar. The independent variable is the working environment and the dependent variable is employee performance. This research is a type of quantitative research and data collection using a questionnaire and literature review. The sample used was 42 respondents who were employees of Siantar Hotel, which collected using a simple random sampling technique. Analysis of research data using validity test, reliability test, normality test, heteroscedasticity test, linearity test, and regression analysis. From the results of the hypothesis test obtained, the value of the Z test is 3.404 which is greater than the Z table (3.404 > 1.96), which means that the work environment does influence employee performance of Siantar Hotel significantly and the environment influence the performance of employees by 28.2%. The recommendation for Siantar Hotel is to pay more attention to the work environment of employees, especially to noise and lighting. So, that employees can improve their performance. Siantar Hotel is also advised to provide earplugs and add more LED lights./ Berdasarkan Danaswara (2018), Lingkungan kerja merupakan keadaan disekitar tempat kerja yang dapat memberikan kesan yang menyenangkan, mengamankan, menentramkan, dan betah bekerja. Lingkungan kerja merupakan salah satu factor pendukung dalam bekerja, karena lingkungan kerja yang mendukung, membuat bekerja secara optimal dan menghasilkan kinerja yang baik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh lingkungan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan di Siantar Hotel, Pematangsiantar. Dengan variabel bebas adalah lingkungan kerja dan variabel terikat adalah kinerja karyawan. Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian kuantitatif dan pengumpulan datanya menggunakan kuesioner dan studi Pustaka. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 42 respondent yang merupakan karyawan Siantar Hotel, yang dikumpulkan dengan teknik simple random sampling. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, uji heterosecdatisitas, uji linearitas, dan analisis regresi. Dari hasil uji hipotesis yang diperoleh, nilai dari uji Z sebesar 3.404 dimana lebih besar dari Z tabel (3.404 > 1.96) yang artinya lingkungan kerja mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan Siantar Hotel secara signifikan dan lingkungan mempengaruhi kinerja karywan sebesar 28,2%. Rekomendasi untuk Siantar Hotel adalah lebih memperhatikan lingkungan kerja karyawan terutama pada kebisingan dan pencahayaan. Agar karyawan dapat meningkatkan kinerjanya. Pihak Sianar Hotel juga disarankan untuk memberikan ear plug dan menambahkan lampu LED.
