Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kanker payudara merupakan kanker yang paling sering terjadi pada wanita. Lebih dari 80% penderita kanker payudara di Indonesia terlambat melakukan pemeriksaan, sehingga banyak kejadian kanker payudara ditemukan pada stadium lanjut. Periksa payudara sendiri (SADARI) merupakan skrining yang dapat dilakukan agar wanita dapat mengenali penampilan and rasa payudara mereka sedini mungkin. Belakangan ini, beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian mahasiswi kedokteran tidak melakukan SADARI. Selain itu, tidak semua mahasiswi yang memiliki faktor risiko kanker payudara melakukan SADARI. Maka dari itu, peneliti hendak meneliti tentang hubungan antara memiliki faktor risiko kanker payudara dengan praktik SADARI. Tujuan Penelitian: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara memiliki faktor risiko kanker payudara dengan praktik SADARI. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan studi potong lintang dengan teknik pengambilan sampel acak sederhana pada 96 mahasiswi kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan angkatan 2018 yang memenuhi kriteria penelitian. Hasil Analisis Data : Data didapatkan dari 96 responden menggunakan kuesioner. Data diolah menggunakan uji chi square. Penelitian ini menunjukan tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara memiliki faktor risiko kanker payudara dengan praktik SADARI pada mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan angkatan 2018 dengan p value 0,419 dan OR 1,515 (95% CI 0,677-3,390). Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan antara adanya faktor risiko kanker payudara dengan praktik SADARI pada mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan angkatan 2018. / Background: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. More than 80% of breast cancer patients in Indonesia are late for examination, so most breast cancer incidents are found at an advanced stage. Breast self exam (BSE) is a breast cancer screening method that is done so that women can feel and recognize the appearance of their breasts as early as possible. Recently, several studies have shown that some female medical students do not do breast self examination. In addition, not all female students who have breast cancer risk factors do breast self examination. Therefore, the researcher is looking forward to examine the association between having breast cancer risk factors and breast self examination practice. Objective: To know the association between having breast cancer risk factor and practice of Breast Self Exam. Methodology: This is a cross sectional design using simple random sampling on 96 female medical students of Universitas Pelita Harapan batch 2018. Results: Data is gathered from 96 respondents using a self administered questionnaire. Data is analyzed using chi square. This research shows no association between having breast cancer risk factor and practice of Breast Self Exam on female medical students of Universitas Pelita Harapan batch 2018 with p value of 0,419 and OR 1,515 (95% CI 0,677-3,390). Conclusion: There is no association between having breast cancer risk factor and practice of Breast Self Exam.
