Abstract

CV. Emax Paint is a paint producer that was established by Mr. Hasan Kosasi in 2010. CV. Emax Paint is a factory that produces paint as their main product with the brand “Emax Paint”. The employee performance was decreased and there are some problems occurred related to the employee competency. The purposes of this research are to know about the employee competency, to figure out about the employee job performance, and to analyze whether there is influence of employee competency on job performance at CV. Emax Paint. The research method used in this research is quantitative research. Population in this research is 43 employees of CV. Emax Paint. This research uses census sampling. The sample is 43 employees of CV. Emax Paint. The data analysis tools used in this research are simple linear regression and coefficient of determination. The result of this research shows that the employee competency at CV. Emax Paint is average level because most of the indicators showed a neutral result for the indicator knowledge, skill, self-concept, and self-characteristic. However, for the indicator motive of the employees in this company is still not good enough. The employee job performance at CV. Emax Paint is at average level. The problems about the job performance can be seen from some indicators such as the low target achievement, the indiscipline behavior of the employees especially in finishing time and principles obedience. Employee competency has influence on job performance at CV. Emax (6.856) > ttable (2.0195). The contribution of employee competency towards job performance at CV. Emax Paint is 53.4% and the rest 46.6% is affected by other factors such as compensation, leadership, supervision, work discipline, and so on. / CV. Emax Paint adalah produsen cat yang didirikan oleh Bapak Hasan Kosasi pada tahun 2010. CV. Emax Paint merupakan pabrik yang memproduksi cat sebagai produk utama mereka dengan merek “Emax Paint”. Kinerja karyawan mengalami penurunan dan terdapat beberapa permasalahan yang terjadi terkait dengan kompetensi karyawan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kompetensi karyawan, mengetahui kinerja kerja karyawan, dan menganalisis ada tidaknya pengaruh kompetensi karyawan terhadap kinerja kerja pada CV. Emax Paint. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 43 karyawan CV. Emax Paint. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sensus sampling. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 43 karyawan CV. Emax Paint. Alat analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah regresi linier sederhana dan koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi karyawan pada CV. Emax Paint berada pada level rata-rata karena sebagian besar indikator menunjukkan hasil yang netral untuk indikator pengetahuan, keterampilan, konsep diri, dan karakteristik diri. Namun untuk indikator motivasi karyawan di perusahaan ini masih belum cukup baik. Kinerja kerja karyawan pada CV. Emax Paint berada pada level rata-rata. Permasalahan kinerja kerja dapat dilihat dari beberapa indikator seperti rendahnya pencapaian target, perilaku tidak disiplin karyawan terutama dalam menyelesaikan waktu dan ketaatan prinsip. Kompetensi karyawan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja kerja pada CV. Emax Paint. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan menggunakan uji hipotesis dengan hasil bahwa tcount (6,856) > ttabel (2,0195). Kontribusi kompetensi karyawan terhadap kinerja kerja pada CV. Emax Paint sebesar 53,4% dan sisanya 46,6% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain seperti kompensasi, kepemimpinan, pengawasan, disiplin kerja, dan sebagainya.
