Abstract

Latar Belakang: Pada masa pandemi ini, ditemukan bahwa prevalensi tingkat stres pada suatu individu mempunyai angka yang cukup tinggi (8,1%-81,9%). Merokok merupakan salah satu jenis coping dalam menanggulangi tingkat stres yang meningkat. Pada penelitian lainnya, ditemukan bahwa pada pandemi ini, tingkat kesuksesan berhenti merokok justru meningkat. Tujuan: Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan stres pada pandemi COVID-19 dengan perilaku merokok pada dewasa muda. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan menggunakan tipe studi komparatif kategorik tidak berpasangan dengan desain studi potong lintang. Sampel penelitian adalah mahasiswa di Jawa, memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan tidak memenuhi kriteria eksklusi. Sampel yang didapatkan mempunyai jumlah minimal 150 sampel dan diambil secara consecutive sampling. Pengambilan data akan menggunakan google form yang berisi COVID -Perceived Stress SCALE -10 QUESTIONNAIRE dan The Glover-Nilsson Smoking Behavioral Questionnaire. Hasil: Ditemukan hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat stres akibat pandemi COVID-19 dan perilaku merokok (p = < 0,001). / Background: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the prevalence of stress levels in an individual is rather high (8.1-81.9%). Smoking is known to be one out of many coping mechanisms in response to increased stress levels. But in another study, it was found that during the pandemic, the success rate of smoking cessation actually increased. Aim: The purpose of this study is to find the relationship between stress during COVID-19 pandemic and smoking behaviour in young adults. Methods: This study used categoric comparative analytic study with two unpaired categories and cross-sectional study design. The targeted research sample is university student in Java, fit with the inclusion criteria and does not meet the exclusion criteria. The minimum sample of this study is at least 150 samples and is taken using consecutive sampling. Data collection will use a google form containing COVID - Perceived Stress SCALE - 10 QUESTIONNAIRE and The Glover-Nilsson Smoking Behavioral Questionnaire. Results: There is a significant relationship between pandemic stress and smoking behaviour (p = < 0.001).
