Abstract

This research was conducted at PT. Sumatera Jaya Telekomunikasi Medan. This research tests and analyzes the influence of work motivation on work discipline at PT. Sumatera Jaya Telekomunikasi Medan. The theory used in this study is related to the theory of work motivation and work discipline. The method used by the author is a quantitative analysis method. The types of data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Data was collected through interviews, observation and questionnaires distributed to employees. The population is amounted to 32 employees and sample in the study is amounted to 32 employees. This study uses a sensus sampling method by taking a number of populations as samples to be tested using SPSS. The scale used to measure variables is the Likert scale. Based on the results of simple regression, it obtained a simple or single correlation coefficient (R) of 0.589 for the job satisfaction variable on the employee performance variable. The R value of 0.589 indicates a strong relationship between work motivation on work discipline variable. The coefficient of determination which can be seen from the results of the R square of 0.346 that the work discipline of 34.6% is explained by work motivation and the remaining 65.4% is explained by other variables outside of this research, namely salary, incentive, promotion. The results of the partial test can be explained that significant value 0.000 <0.05, then work motivation has influence towards work discipline at PT. Sumatera Jaya Telekomunikasi Medan. The conclusion in this study that work motivation influences work discipline at PT. Sumatera Jaya Telekomunikasi Medan. By increasing the motivation to work, it can have an impact on the improvement of employee discipline./Penelitian ini dilakukan di PT. Sumatera Jaya Telekomunikasi Medan. Dalam penelitian ini menguji dan menganalisis motivasi kerja berpengaruh terhadap disiplin kerja di PT. Sumatera Jaya Telekomunikasi Medan. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berkaitan dengan teori motivasi kerja dan disiplin kerja. Dalam penelitian ini metode yang digunakan penulis adalah metode analisis kuantitatif. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi dan penyebaran kuesioner kepada karyawan. Populasi berjumlah 32 karyawan dan sampel dalam penelitian berjumlah 32 karyawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sensus sampling dengan mengambil sejumlah populasi sebagai sampel untuk diuji menggunakan SPSS. Skala yang digunakan untuk mengukur variabel adalah skala likert. Berdasarkan hasil regresi sederhana diperoleh koefisien korelasi sederhana atau tunggal (R) sebesar 0,589 untuk variabel kepuasan kerja terhadap variabel kinerja karyawan. Nilai R sebesar 0,589 menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang kuat antara variabel motivasi kerja terhadap variabel disiplin kerja. Koefisien determinasi yang dapat dilihat dari hasil R square sebesar 0,346 bahwa disiplin kerja sebesar 34,6% dijelaskan oleh motivasi kerja dan sisanya 65,4% dijelaskan oleh variabel lain di luar penelitian ini yaitu gaji, insentif, promosi jabatan. Hasil uji parsial dapat dijelaskan bahwa nilai signifikan 0,000 <0,05 maka Motivasi Kerja berpengaruh terhadap Disiplin Kerja pada PT. Sumatera Jaya Telekomunikasi Medan. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah ada pengaruh motivasi kerja terhadap disiplin kerja di PT. Sumatera Jaya Telekomunikasi Medan. Dengan meningkatkan motivasi kerja dapat berdampak pada peningkatan disiplin kerja karyawan.
