Abstract

In modern days, successors are important assets of a company in the long run. In the past, many companies perceived employee as replaceable factor, but the mindset has changed. Many companies now started to take extra care of their own employees. One aspect to be focused on is on how a company manage the succession planning, as it directly affects the employees. Many believes that by managing the succession planning well, it will influence on how well the company will perform. Therefore, the writer is intrigued to analyse on the influence of succession planning on an organizational survival. The main goal of this research. Upon completion of this research, it is hoped that it will result in better understanding of how Succession Planning impacts Organizational Survival at PT.Indodaya Cipta Karya Medan. The purpose is to answered the problem formulation as best as this research could provide. The research design used in this research are quantitative method,descriptive method and causal method. whereas the data analysis method used are validity test, reliability test, descriptive statistics, classical assumption test, simple regression analysis and hypothesis T-test. In this study, 61 respondents, who are part of PT. Indodaya Cipta Karya will be questioned regarding the succession planning and the organizational survival of the company they are working in, then the data will be used to be analysed. Data will be collected by a questionnaire distributed online. The data will be tested to see if it is both valid and reliable by distributing pre-test questionnaire to 30 respondents beforehand. Result of the study shows that succession planning does have an influence towards organizational survival based on the hypothesis t-test that accept the alternate hypothesis, suggesting this conclusion./ Di zaman modern ini, penerus merupakan aset penting sebuah perusahaan dalam jangka panjang. Di masa lalu, banyak perusahaan menganggap karyawan sebagai faktor yang dapat diganti, tetapi pola pikir telah berubah. Banyak perusahaan sekarang mulai lebih memperhatikan karyawan mereka sendiri. Salah satu aspek yang menjadi fokus adalah bagaimana perusahaan mengelola perencanaan suksesi, karena secara langsung mempengaruhi karyawan. Banyak yang percaya bahwa dengan mengelola perencanaan suksesi dengan baik, akan mempengaruhi seberapa baik kinerja perusahaan. Oleh karena itu, penulis tertarik untuk menganalisis pengaruh perencanaan suksesi terhadap kelangsungan hidup organisasi. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini. Setelah menyelesaikan penelitian ini, diharapkan akan menghasilkan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang bagaimana perencanaan suksesi berdampak pada kelangsungan hidup organisasi. Tujuannya adalah untuk menjawab rumusan masalah sebaik mungkin. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif, metode deskriptif dan metode kausal. sedangkan metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, statistik deskriptif, uji asumsi klasik, analisis regresi sederhana dan uji-t hipotesis. Dalam penelitian ini, 61 orang bagian dari PT. Indodaya Cipta Karya akan dilibatkan untuk menjawab pertanyaan yang berkaitan dengan perencanaan suksesi dan kinerja perusahaannya, lalu hasilnya akan dianalisa. Berhubung adanya pembatasan sosial, kuesioner akan dibagikan secara online. Sebelumnya, data akan diolah dengan analisis validitas dan reabilitas dengan pengukuran yang dilakukan dengan membagikan kuesioner kepada 30 orang karyawan.Dari hasil penelitian, dapat dibuktikan bahwa perencanaan suksesi mempengaruhi kelangsungan hidup organisasi, sebagaimana ditunjukkan hasil dari uji hipotesa yang menerima hipotesis alternatif.
