Abstract
Business communication essentially covers the study of communication in a global multilingual business environment. Nonetheless, the research grows into the subject of management and organizational behavior throughout time. The aim of this study is to examine how the employees’ working motivation, as one of the organizational behavior, is affected by the communication used in Kopi Chuseyo Pamulang. Kopi Chuseyo Pamulang, as a company, has distinguishing characteristics that set it apart from other cafes; it is a Kpop-themed café that caters to a very particular market: Kpop fans. The employees mostly range from the age 17-25, which already become another determining factor in communication study. The census of 30 Kopi Chuseyo Pamulang personnel was analyzed using descriptive and causal studies, as well as observation. The validity and reliability of the surveys distributed passed the test. The normality, heteroscedasticity, and linearity tests were also passed on the data. The value on the coefficient of determination shows 41.73% that communication affects employees’ working motivation. Other findings include the existence of a hierarchical pyramid in Kopi Chuseyo Pamulang, which has no effect on the formality of the communication process. Not only does this study highlight the type of communication style that was identified, but it also highlights the function of external variables, such as age and gender, in determining communication flow in Kopi Chuseyo Pamulang. In Kopi Chuseyo Pamulang, miscommunication is also a key factor in deciding the effectiveness of working motivation.
