Abstract

Kata kunci : Fast Paced Game, Waktu Reaksi / Background: Reflex is something that humans are born with to avoid danger. As in life reflexes are needed in the game to avoid game over. The number of people playing the game is increasing. In 2020 the number of internet users playing games is 3.5 billion and 100 million of them are Indonesian citizens. This increase was due to the Covid-19 virus pandemic which resulted in the emergence of a trend of working or studying at home. Several studies have been carried out, but it is very rare to do it in Indonesia, especially for students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Pelita Harapan, Class of 2018 and 2019. Aim: This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between playing Fast Paced Game (FPG) and reaction time. Hypothesis: There is a relation between playing FPG and reaction time in students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Pelita Harapan. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional study design on 42 students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Pelita Harapan, batch 2018 and 2019 who were taken by random sampling. Data was collected by doing an online Attention Network Test (ANT). The results was analyzed using the Chi square table. Results: The results showed that the odds ratio (RO) obtained from fast paced game was 4.641 and the relative risk (RR) was 3.841 (p value = 0.045). From these results it can be interpreted that people who play FPG have 4,641 times to have a fast reaction time (= <459) compared to people who don't play FPG. Conclusion: the relationship between fast paced games and reaction speed. Keywords: Fast Paced Game, Reaction Time
