Abstract

Masyarakat sering kali mengolah berbagai macam tumbuhan untuk dimanfaatkan dalam pengobatan sendiri, seperti untuk meningkatkan stamina tubuh. Salah satu tumbuhan yang sering digunakan adalah rimpang kencur, karena mudah diperoleh dan telah lama dimanfaatkan sebagai bumbu masakan, Selain rimpang kencur,terdapat tanaman miana yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai penambah nafsu makan dengan kandungan senyawa flavonoid dan minyak atsiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kombinasi ekstrak rimpang kencur (Kaempferia galanga L.) dan daun miana (Coleus scutellarioides L. Benth) memiliki efek stimulan pada mencit (Mus musculus) putih jantan. Simplisia rimpang kencur dan daun miana diekstraksi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96% melalui metode maserasi, kemudian dilakukan pengujian efek stimulan terhadap mencit dengan metode natatory exhaustion. Prinsip dari metode ini adalah merenangkan mencit dalam sebuah wadah berisi air dan dicatat lamanya berenang. Dosis ekstrak yang diuji terbagi menjadi tiga dosis, yaitu 2 gram ekstrak rimpang kencur, 5 gram kombinasi ekstrak rimpang kencur dan daun miana dengan perbandingan 2:3 serta 7 gram kombinasi ekstrak rimpang kencur dan daun miana dengan perbandingan 2:5. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh, pemberian kombinasi ekstrak rimpang kencur dan daun miana mampu memberikan efek stimulan sebesar 5,15-7,54% / People often cultivate various kinds of plants to be used in self-medication, such as to increase body stamina. One of the plants that is often used is kaempferia galanga, because it is easy to obtain and has long been used as a cooking spice. Besides kaempferia galanga, there are miana, that can be used as an appetite enhancer. This study aims to determine the combination of kaempferia galanga and coleus scutellarioides has a stimulant effect of mice. The simplicia of kaempferia galanga and coleus scutellarioides were extracted using 96% ethanol solvent through maceration method, then tested the stimulant effect on mice by natatory exhaustion method. The principle of this method is to swim mice in a container filled with water and record the duration of swimming. The dose of the extract tested was divided into three doses, namely 2 grams of kaempferia galanga extract, 5 grams of a combination of kaempferia galanga and coleus scutellarioides extract in a ratio of 2:3 and 7 grams of a combination of kaempferia galanga and coleus scutellarioides extract in a 2:5 ratio. Based on the results obtained, the combination of kaempferia galanga and coleus scutellarioides was able to provide a stimulant effect of 5.15-7.54%.
