Abstract

Breakwater merupakan struktur pelengkap pada pelabuhan yang berfungsi untuk menahan ombak dan menjaga ketenangan kolam pelabuhan. Tata letak breakwater dapat mempengaruhi pola transpor sedimen yang terjadi pada area tersebut. Transpor sedimen dapat berujung pada sedimentasi dan pendangkalan yang tidak baik bagi alur pelayaran. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk melihat simulasi pola arus dan transpor sedimen non kohesif yang terjadi di Pelabuhan Merak menggunakan perangkat lunak MIKE 21 dengan modul terintegrasi Coupled Model FM. Tiga pemodelan dalam modul tersebut yang digunakan adalah Spectral Wave untuk simulasi gelombang, Hydrodynamic untuk simulasi arus, dan Sand Transport untuk simulasi transpor sedimen non kohesif. Simulasi dilakukan dalam dua periode, yaitu bulan Agustus 2020 yang dipilih berdasarkan data angin, dan bulan November 2020 yang dipilih berdasarkan data elevasi muka air laut. Hasil simulasi ditinjau baik secara umum dan secara khusus pada empat titik peninjauan pada area kolam pelabuhan. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa arah arus mengikuti arah angin yang terjadi. Kecepatan arus pada bulan Agustus lebih besar dibandingkan kecepatan arus pada bulan November yang disebabkan oleh terjadinya pembelokkan arus pada bulan November akibat adanya breakwater. Transpor sedimen yang terjadi pada bulan Agustus cenderung terjadi di dalam kolam pelabuhan dengan nilai SSC tertinggi di atas 0,26 gram/m3. Transpor sedimen pada bulan November cenderung terjadi di luar kolam pelabuhan. Nilai SSC tertinggi pada bulan November yang terjadi di area kolam pelabuhan tidak melebihi 0,025 gram/m3. Hasil pada keempat titik peninjauan di area kolam pelabuhan juga menunjukkan debit transpor sedimen lebih besar di bulan Agustus. / Breakwater is a coastal defense structure to protect anchorage area from waves. It’s layout can affect the sediment transport pattern that occurs in that area. Sediment transport can lead to deposition and siltation which endanger sailing and docking ship. This research was conducted to simulate the current flow and non-cohesive sediment transport pattern at Merak Port using the MIKE 21 software with the integrated module Coupled Model FM. The models used in this module are Spectral Wave model for wave simulation, Hydrodynamic model for current flow simulation, and Sand Transport model for non-cohesive sediment transport simulation. The simulation was carried out with two different simulation periods, which are August 2020 which was selected based on wind data, and November 2020 which was selected based on sea surface elevation level data. Thesimulation results were reviewed both generally and specifically at the four observation points chosen within the anchorage area. The simulation results show that the current flow direction follows the general wind direction. The current speed in August was greater than the current speed in November due to current flow deflection in November caused by the existing breakwater. The sediment transport occurred in August tended to happen within the anchorage area with the highest SSC value above 0.26 gram/m3. The sediment transport occurred in November tended to occur outside the anchorage area. The highest SSC value in November which occurred in the anchorage area is below 0.025 gram/m3. The result at the four observation points within the anchorage area also shows higher sediment transport discharge in August.
