Abstract

Semakin meningkatnya intensitas penggunaan alat transportasi darat mewajibkan adanya perkembangan dalam pembuatan perkerasan jalan. Salah satu inovasi yang masih digunakan sampai saat ini ialah lapisan perkerasan aspal beton (laston). Dalam proses pembuatan campuran perkerasan jalan beraspal, umumnya digunakan proses pencampuran aspal panas / Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) tetapi terus menurun seiring berjalannya waktu. Alasan terjadinya penurunan yakni pengerjaannya memerlukan suhu tinggi memicu munculnya permasalahan lingkungan akibat akibat konsumsi energi yang tinggi berdampak terhadap emisi yang dihasilkan. Sehingga kemudian muncul metode-metode lain berupa campuran aspal hangat / Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA). Pembuatannya pada suhu 105°C - 135°C yang menggunakan bahan tambahan organik atau wax. Tetapi campuran perkerasan jalan secara WMA juga tidak lepas dari pengaruh ageing. Ageing berarti campuran mengalami perubahan fraksi penyusunnya sehingga sifat reologi aspal menjadi lebih kaku, salah satu modifikasi untuk meminimalisir pengaruh ageing adalah dengan menambahkan polimer. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk menganalisis efek dari modifikasi campuran aspal hangat (WMA) menggunakan aditif kimia Rediset LQ dengan metode pecampuran kering (dry method) yang dicampur dengan berbagai kadar polimer (0%,4%,5%,6%) superplast produksi Iterchemica dalam mengurangi pengaruh penuaan (ageing). Ageing yang dilakukan pada penelitian bukan merupakan kondisi asli klimatik yang mempengaruhi benda uji tetapi untuk mensimulasikan efek ageing digunakan panduan berdasarkan AASHTO R30-02 dengan variasi oven-ageing conditioning untuk mensimulasikan efek short term ageing dilanjutkan dengan long term ageing. Dari percobaan didapat hasil penambahan produk polimer superplast terbukti dapat memberikan efek yang positif terhadap campuran aspal, dimana diantaranya dapat meningkatkan nilai properties mekanis dari campuran sehingga terbukti dapat meminimalisir efek ageing. Didapat kadar tambahan polimer 4% merupakan kadar optimum. / The increasing intensity of land transportation means there is a need for developments in the manufacture of road pavements. One of the innovations that are still used today is asphalt concrete. Generally, hot mix asphalt (HMA) is used for a pavement structure. However, its use continues to decline over time. The reason for the decline is that the process requires high temperatures, triggering the emergence of environmental problems due to increased energy consumption, which impacts the resulting emissions. So then other methods are made in the form of warm mix asphalt (WMA), manufacture at a temperature of 105°C - 135°C using organic additives or wax. However, the WMA pavement mix cannot be separated from the influence of ageing. Ageing means that the mixture changes its constituent fractions to change the rheological properties cause asphalt to become stiffer; one modification to minimize the effect of ageing is adding polymer. This study aimed to analyze the impact of the modification of warm asphalt mixture (WMA) using chemical additives Rediset LQ with dry method mixed with various polymer content (0%,4%,5%,6%) Superplast produced by Iterchemica to enhance the mechanical properties of aged specimens. The ageing effect carried out in this study was not through a natural climatic condition that affected the test object but performed through oven-ageing simulation based on AASHTO R30-02 with variations of the duration of pre-conditioning to simulate the impact of short-term ageing proceeded with long-term ageing. The experiment concluded that the addition of Superplast polymer products was proven to have a positive effect on asphalt mixtures, one of which could increase the mechanical properties of the mix. The polymer dosage of 4% was selected as the optimal value to improve the properties of the aged WMA specimens.
