Abstract

Hubungan antara durasi pemakaian gadget dengan mata kering pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan di masa pandemi Latar Belakang: Dalam masa pandemi COVID-19 ini, kesehatan mata harus semakin diperhatikan akibat meningkatnya durasi penggunaan gadget, komputer dan smartphone di seluruh dunia. Selama masa pandemi COVID-19 ini, waktu yang dihabiskan untuk menggunakan gadget telah meningkat secara dramatis terutama dengan adanya pembelajaran secara online dan oleh karenanya bisa terjadi peningkatan prevalensi Mata Kering di Indonesia dan negara-negara lain di dunia. Namun penelitian ini masih terbatas pada populasi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan pada saat pandemi COVID-19. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara durasi penggunaan gadget dengan mata kering mahasiswa Universitas Pelita Harapan pada pandemi COVID-19. Hipotesis: Ada hubungan durasi penggunaan gadget dengan mata kering mahasiswa Universitas Pelita Harapan pada saat pandemi COVID-19. Metode: Cross sectional study dilakukan pada 430 Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan Indonesia yang memenuhi kriteria penelitian dimana populasi sampel dikumpulkan dengan non-probability sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan meminta subjek mengisi kuesioner OSDI dan Screen time. Uji statistik yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini adalah uji chi-square dan analisis data dengan menggunakan IBM SPSS versi 23.0. Hasil: Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara durasi penggunaan gadget dengan mata kering mahasiswa Universitas Pelita Harapan pada pandemi COVID-19 pada gadget PC/laptop dan Smartphone di hari kerja dan malam (p= 0,006) Simpulan: Terdapat hubungan antara durasi pemakaian gadget dan mata kering pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran./The correlation between gadget use duration and dry eyes of college students in Pelita Harapan University during Covid-19 pandemic Background: With the introduction of COVID-19, the time spent using gadgets increased dramatically especially in the case of online learning causing an increase in prevalence of Dry eyes. This study is to the students of Faculty of Medicine of Pelita Harapan University in Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic. Objective: This study aims to investigate the relationship between duration of gadget use and dry eyes of students in pelita harapan university thgroughtout the COVID-19 pandemic Hypothesis: There is a correlation between the duration of gadget use and dry eyes of college students in Pelita Harapan University during the COVID-19 pandemic Method: A cross-sectional study is conducted on 430 Students of the Faculty of Medicine of Pelita Harapan University who fulfill the study’s criteria. The sample population is collected by non-probability sampling with data collection done using the OSDI and Screen time questionnaires. Analysis used for this study is chi-square test and IBM SPSS version 23.0. Results: There is a significant correlation between the duration of gadget usage to the incidence of dry eyes on the students of Pelita Harapan University during the COVID-19 Pandemic. (p= 0,006) Conclusion: There is a correlation between the duration of gadget usage to the incidence of dry eyes on the students of Pelita Harapan University during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
