Abstract

Peperangan hutan adalah salah satu dari banyak jenis pertempuran yang dilakukan oleh militer Indonesia. Ini adalah hal utama bagi setiap unit militer untuk berkembang dalam peperangan di hutan. Jenis peperangan ini membutuhkan kesadaran, mobilitas, dan kepraktisan yang merupakan salah satu masalah yang penulis amati terkait jenis alas kaki yang dipakai saat berperang. Selama ini penulis melakukan penelitian tentang jungle boot yang dikhususkan untuk mobilitas tentara yang melakukan operasi di wilayah tropis. Penulis memanfaatkan wawancara, survei, studi pustaka, studi simulasi gerak, pembedahan alas kaki, dan studi bahan. Penulis mewawancarai tentara aktif dan tidak aktif untuk mengetahui masalah apa yang mereka hadapi saat melakukan operasi dengan menggunakan alas kaki yang disediakan. Berdasarkan penelitian primer dan sekunder, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa prajurit yang melakukan operasi di hutan basah dan hutan hujan tropis memerlukan jenis alas kaki yang berbeda yang tidak hanya melindungi mereka dari berbagai elemen di hutan, tetapi juga yang mendukung mobilitas kaki dan kepraktisan tentara dalam hal kemudahan pakai./Jungle warfare is one of the many different types of battle conducted by the Indonesian military. It is a staple for every unit of the military to thrive in jungle warfare. This type of warfare requires awareness, mobility, and practicality which are one of the problems observed by the author in regards towards the types of footwear worn during battle. During this time, the author conducted a study about jungle boot specialized for mobility of soldiers conducting operations in the tropical region. The author utilized interviews, questionnaires, literature study, movement simulation, footwear dissection, and material study. The author interviewed active and inactive soldiers to discover what kind of problems they are facing when conducting operations using the provided footwear. Based on the primary and secondary research, the author concluded that the soldiers who are conducting operations in the wet, and tropical rain forest require a different type of footwear that not only protect them from different elements in the jungle, but also one that support mobility of the foot and practicality of the soldiers in terms of ease of wear.
