Abstract

Latar Belakang: Peningkatan tekanan darah merupakan kondisi yang berbahaya karena dapat meningkatkan risiko terjadinya penyakit-penyakit seperti jantung koroner dan juga stroke. Salah faktor risiko untuk peningkatan tekanan darah yang dapat dimodifikasi adalah indeks massa tubuh yang berlebih. Indeks massa tubuh adalah salah satu indikator yang bisa dipakai untuk memperkirakan kadar lemak tubuh pada seseorang. Dua penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara rerata tekanan darah pada kelompok dengan indeks massa tubuh (IMT) normal dan dengan IMT overweight. Sebuah penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tekanan darah sistolik dan diastolik lebih tinggi pada kelompok dengan IMT overweight dibandingkan dengan IMT normal. Akan tetapi penelitian lain menunjukkan bahwa hanya tekanan darah sistolik yang meningkat secara signifikan pada kelompok IMT overweight dibandingkan dengan kelompok IMT normal. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan penelitian untuk membandingkan tekanan darah pada kelompok umur 18-24 tahun dengan indeks massa tubuh normal dan overweight. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan rerata tekanan darah pada kelompok umur 18-24 tahun dengan indeks massa tubuh normal dan overweight. Metodologi: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik komparatif numerik tidak berpasangan dengan desain studi cross-sectional. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan pengisian kuesioner dan pengukuran tekanan darah pada sampel yang berjumlah 73 orang. Hasil data yang terkumpul dianalisa menggunakan SPSS 26.0 dan diuji statistik menggunakan independent sample T-test. Hipotesis: Rerata tekanan darah sistolik dan diastolik pada kelompok umur 18-24 tahun lebih tinggi pada kelompok dengan indeks massa tubuh overweight dibanding dengan indeks massa tubuh normal. Hasil: Total responden yang diperoleh adalah 73 responden. Terdapat sebanyak 44 (60%) responden yang memiliki indeks massa tubuh normal dan 29 (40%) responden yang memiliki indeks massa tubuh overweight yang dikategorikan berdasarkan kriteria WHO. Berdasarkan pengukuran tekanan darah, kelompok indeks massa tubuh (IMT) normal memiliki mean tekanan sistolik sebesar 114, 82 ± 5,45, dan tekanan diastolik sebesar 73,25 ± 4,29. Sedangkan kelompok IMT overweight memiliki mean tekanan sistolik sebesar 127,86 ± 7,07 dan tekanan diastolik sebesar 81,00 ± 5,75. Berdasarkan uji independent sample T-test, ditemukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rerata yang signifikan pada tekanan darah sistolik dan diastolik antara kelompok dengan IMT normal dan IMT overweight dimana rerata tekanan darah sistolik dan diastolik pada kelompok umur 18-24 tahun lebih tinggi pada kelompok dengan IMT overweight daripada kelompok IMT normal (p-value = 0,000). Pada penelitian ini tidak ditemukan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara rerata tekanan darah sistolik dan diastolik pada laki-laki dan perempuan. Kesimpulan: Rerata tekanan darah sistolik dan diastolik pada kelompok umur 18-24 tahun lebih tinggi secara signifikan pada kelompok dengan IMT overweight daripada kelompok IMT normal. / Background: Elevated blood pressure can be dangerous because it increases the risk of diseases such as coronary artery disease and stroke. Increasing body mass index is one of the modifiable risk factor for increased blood pressure. Body mass index (BMI) is one of the indicators used to estimate body fat levels in an individual. Two previous studies showed that there is a difference between the average blood pressure between those with normal BMI and overweight BMI. One study shows that both systolic and diastolic blood pressure is higher amongst the overweight group. However, another study shows that only systolic blood pressure is significantly increased amongst the overweight group. Therefore, further research is needed to compare the systolic and diastolic blood pressure of young adults aged 18-24 years old with normal BMI and overweight BMI. Aim: The aim of this research is to compare the blood pressure of young adults aged 18-24 years old with normal body mass index and overweight body mass index. Methods: This study is an analytic comparative numerical study with a cross-sectional design. Data was taken from questionanaires and measurements of blood pressure with a sample of 73 respondents. The data was analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and was tested by T-test. Hypothesis: The average systolic and diastolic pressure is higher for 18-24 years old with overweight body mass index compared to those with normal body mass index. Result: A total of 73 subjects were included in the study. 44 (60%) subjects are categorized as having normal body mass index (BMI) while 29 (40%) subjects are categorized as having overweight BMI based on the WHO criteria. Based on blood pressure measurements, the group with normal BMI have a mean systolic pressure of 114. 82 ± 5.45 and a mean diastolic pressure of 73.25 ± 4.29. The group with overweight BMI have a mean systolic pressure of 127.86 ± 7 .07 and a mean diastolic pressure of 81.00 ± 5,75. Based on the analysis using independent sample T-test, it was found that there is a statistically significant mean difference between the group with normal BMI and group with overweight BMI for ages 18-24, whereby the mean for those with overweight BMI is higher than those with normal BMI (p-value = 0,000). For this study, it was not found that there is a significance difference between mean systolic and diastolic pressure between men and women. Conclusion: The mean systolic and diastolic pressure is statistically significantly higher for 18-24 years old with overweight body mass index compared to those with normal body mass index.
