Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran Greenpeace terkait kasus kebakaran hutan dan lahan di Indonesia. Pada tahun 2015, kebakaran hutan terparah terjadi akibat kekeringan yang disebabkan oleh El-Nino dan juga pembukaan lahan yang dilakukan oleh perusahaan-perusahaan sawit dan pulp. Kebakaran ini terulang kembali di tahun 2019 karena penegakkan hukum pemerintah yang cukup lemah dalam menindak tegas perusahaan yang konsesinya mengalami kebakaran. Hal ini tentu menarik perhatian Greenpeace sebagai organisasi lingkungan global untuk berpartisipasi dalam melestarikan serta melindungi hutan dan membantu mencegah terjadinya kebakaran hutan yang berulang. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Politik Hijau dan beberapa konsep yaitu Organisasi Non-Pemerintah, Lingkungan Hidup, Ekonsetrisme, dan Green Security. Penelitian ini diperoleh dari beberapa sumber seperti buku, jurnal, situs web resmi dan situs web yang kredibel. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif yang bersifat kualitatif. Hasil penelitian dari penulisan ini menjelaskan bahwa Greenpeace banyak berkontribusi dalam berkampanye mengenai kebakaran hutan dengan cara kampanye Hutan Tanpa Api, Kepo Itu Baik, Peta Kepo Hutan, Tiger Challenge, Pendekatan High Carbon Stock (HCS), Tim Cegah Api, Advokasi Hukum kepada Pemerintah, Aksi Greenpeace dalam Menekan Pemerintah, Pembentukan Kemitraan dengan Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat (LSM) lainnya, Strategi Jaringan Advokasi Transnasional. Namun, kontribusinya tidak membawa banyak perubahan tetapi Greenpeace mampu menekan aktor yang terlibat dalam kebakaran hutan. / This study aims to determine the role of Greenpeace in the case of forest and land fires in Indonesia. In 2015, the worst forest fires occurred due to drought caused by El-Nino as well as land clearing by palm oil and pulp companies. These fires reoccurred in 2019 because the government's law enforcement was quite weak in taking firm action against companies whose concessions caught fire. This certainly attracted the attention of Greenpeace as a global environmental organization to participate in conserving and protecting forests and helping prevent forest fires from recurring. This research uses Green theory and several concepts, namely Non-Government Organizations, Environment, Ecocentrism and Green Security. This research was obtained from several sources such as books, journals, official websites and credible websites. This research uses descriptive research method which is qualitative. The results of this study explain that Greenpeace has contributed a lot in campaigning on forest fires by the Forest Without Fire, Kepo Itu Baik, Kepo Hutan Map, Tiger Challenge, High Carbon Stock (HCS) Approach, Fire Prevention Team, Legal Advocacy to the Government, Actions Taken by Greenprace to Suppressed the Government, Formation of Partnerships with other Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Transnational Advocacy Network Strategy. However, Greenpeace contribution did not bring much change but Greenpeace was able to suppress the actors involved in forest fires.
