Abstract

Harga diri menjadi salah satu faktor penting yang membantu proses perkembangan identitas yang sedang dijalani oleh remaja. Beberapa remaja di Indonesia, mayoritas remaja perempuan, mengalami tingkat harga diri rendah. Salah satu provinsi yang menunjukan beberapa karakteristik harga diri rendah adalah Jawa Barat. Salah satu faktor yang mendukung harga diri remaja perempuan adalah keterlibatan ayah. Keterlibatan ayah dapat membantu memenuhi kebutuhan remaja perempuan dalam mengembangkan harga diri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melihat peran keterlibatan ayah terhadap harga diri pada remaja perempuan di Jawa Barat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan menggunakan Skala Keterlibatan Ayah dan Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. Subjek penelitian adalah perempuan Jawa Barat berusia 12-20 tahun sebanyak 225 orang. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik regresi linear sederhana. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan ayah berperan terhadap harga diri remaja perempuan Jawa Barat, dengan dimensi engagement memiliki korelasi paling kuat. Hasil penelitian menunjukan pentingnya keterlibatan ayah pada proses pembentukan harga diri remaja perempuan Jawa Barat./ Self-esteem is one of the important factors that help the process of identity development in adolescence. Some Indonesian adolescents, mostly girls, have low levels of self-esteem. One of the provinces that shows some characteristics of low self-esteem is West Java. One of the factors that support a female adolescents self- esteem is the involvement of the father. Father involvement can help fulfil the needs of adolescent girls in developing self-esteem. Therefore, the aim of this study is to see the influence father involvement on self-esteem in female adolescents in West Java. This study uses quantitative research method using the Father Involvement Scale and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. Respondents of this research are 225 female adolescents aged 12-20 years who live in West Java. The data were analysed using a simple linear regression model. Findings show that father involvement plays a role in the self-esteem of adolescent females in West Java, with the engagement dimension having the strongest correlation. The results indicate the importance of father involvement in the development of self-esteem for adolescent females in West Java.
