Abstract

Komunikasi adalah suatu hal yang paling mendasar dan sangat penting dalam kehidupan manusia. Karena dengan berkomunikasi, individu dapat menyampaikan ide dan bertukar informasi maupun pendapat yang dimilikinya. Namun di dalam proses komunikasi, tidak jarang mengalami gangguan (noise) yang dapat mengakibatkan tidak dapat diterimanya pesan dengannbaik terutama pada siswa tunarungu. Penelitian ini membahas tentang komunikasi interpersonal antara guru dan siswa tunarungu dalam mengembangkan potensi terutama di SLB Cahaya Pertiwi Bekasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran guru dalam mengembangkan potensi siswa tunarungu melalui komunikasi interpersonal. Teori yang digunakan adalah Teori Penetrasi Sosial. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan femenologi. Obyek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa tunarungu. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi interpersonal yang dilakukan guru terhadap siswa tunarungu berperan penting dalam mengembangkan potensi yang ada dalam diri siswa tunarungu, terutama pada potensi berbahasa agar siswa tunarungu mampu menyampaikan minat dan bakatnya melalui komunikasi yang baik/Communication is the most basic and very important thing in human life. Because by communicating, individuals can convey ideas and exchange information and opinions they have. However, in the communication process, it is not uncommon to experience interference (noise) which can result in not being able to receive messages properly, especially for deaf students. This study discusses interpersonal communication between teachers and deaf students in developing potential, especially in SLB Cahaya Pertiwi Bekasi. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of teachers in developing the potential of deaf students through interpersonal communication. The theory used is Social Penetration Theory. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. The object of this research is deaf students. Data collection techniques were carried out using interviews and observations. The results of this study indicate that interpersonal communication by the teacher to deaf students plays an important role in developing the potential that exists in deaf students, especially in language potential so that deaf students are able to convey their interests and talents through good communication.
