Abstract

Penarikan diri Amerika Serikat dari forum dan perjanjian internasional di masa kepemimpinan Donald Trump adalah fenomena yang menarik untuk dikaji mengingat Amerika Serikat adalah negara yang sebelumnya menjadi pendukung penting dari forum-forum tersebut. Dalam penelitian ini penulis hendak mencari tahu faktor-faktor yang melatarbelakangi kebijakan ini dengan mengambil contoh riil dari penarikan diri Amerika Serikat dari Transpacific Partnership dan Paris Agreement. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori realisme dan menggunakan beberapa konsep seperti konsep proteksionisme, perjanjian internasional, kepemimpinan sebagai acuan penulisan skripsi ini. Penulis juga menggunakan metode sejarah untuk merekonstruksi kronologi yang terjadi. Adapun data penelitian diperoleh dari data sekunder melalui studi kepustakaan dan teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis deskriptif. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menyimpulkan bahwa penarikan diri ini disebabkan oleh Donald Trump yang ingin melindungi ekonomi dalam negeri, selain itu juga karena adanya tekanan dari Partai Republik yang tidak menganggap perubahan iklim adalah bagian dari kepentingan nasional AS serta yang tidak kalah penting perusahaan manufaktur yang menuntut perlindungan negara dalam persaingan produknya dengan produk dari perusahaan negara lain. / The withdrawal of the United States from international forums and treaties during the leadership of Donald Trump is an interesting phenomenon to study considering that the United States is a country that has previously been an important supporter of these forums. In this study, the author wants to find out the factors behind this policy by taking real examples of the withdrawal of the United States from the Transpacific Partnership and the Paris Agreement. This study uses realism theory and uses several concepts such as the concept of protectionism, international agreements, leadership as a reference for writing this thesis. The author also uses historical methods to reconstruct the chronology of what happened. The research data was obtained from secondary data through literature study and the analysis technique used was descriptive analysis technique. In this study, the authors conclude that this withdrawal was caused by Donald Trump who wanted to protect the domestic economy, but also because of pressure from the Republican Party who did not consider climate change to be part of the US national interest and no less important were manufacturing companies that demanded protection for their products in the competition against foreign companies.
