Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat merupakan pelaksanaan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi dan seni budaya langsung pada masyarakat secara kelembagaan melalui metodologi ilmiah sebagai penyebaran Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi serta tanggung jawab yang luhur dalam usaha mengembangkan kemampuan masyarakat, sehingga dapat mempercepat laju pertumbuhan tercapainya tujuan pembangunan nasional. Tujuan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini adalah (1) Untuk membagikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang dimiliki oleh mahasiswa melalui mata kuliah di Fakultas Pariwisata program studi Pengelolaan Perhotelan, Universitas Pelita Harapan, (2) Untuk memperkenalkan kepada anggota SML UMKM Centre mengenai pembuatan produk sambal hiyung. Oleh karena itu, tim membuat program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dalam bentuk pelatihan dengan mengajarkan peserta SML UMKM Centre mengenai pembuatan produk sambal hiyung. Sambal hiyung merupakan salah satu produk olahan dari cabai hiyung yang termasuk salah satu cabai terpedas di Indonesia bahkan pernah masuk kedalam daftar 10 cabai terpedas di dunia karena tingkat kepedasan dari cabai hiyung itu sendiri 17 kali lebih pedas pada umumnya. Selain itu, sambal hiyung juga mudah untuk diolah dirumah. Diharapkan dengan adanya kegiatan ini dapat bermanfaat bagi peserta SML UMKM Centre dan juga nantinya dapat dikembangkan. / Community service is the implementation of science, technology and cultural arts directly to the community institutionally through scientific methodologies as the dissemination of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and noble responsibilities in an effort to develop community capabilities. So as to accelerate the rate of growth in achieving national development goals. The objectives of this Community Service activity are (1) To share the knowledge and skills possessed by students through courses at the Faculty of Tourism, Hospitality Management study program, Pelita Harapan University, (2) To introduce SML UMKM Centre participants to the manufacture of chili hiyung products. Therefore, the team created a Community Service program in the form of training by teaching SML UMKM Centre participants about making chili hiyung products. Sambal hiyung is one of the processed products from chilli hiyung which is one of the hottest chilies in Indonesia and has even been included in the list of the 10 hottest chilies in the world because the level of spiciness of the hiyung chilli itself is 17 times hotter in general. In addition, chilli hiyung is also easy to prepare at home. It is hoped that this activity can be useful for SML UMKM Centre participants and can also be developed later.
