Abstract

The workforce is the backbone of every successful business. Employee performance within a company can determine the future of the business. Hotel Luxury, Bireun has problems with their employee regarding service that caused some customers to complain and leave a bad review to their company. The objective of this research is to analyze the influence of training and motivation on employee performance at Hotel Luxury, Bireun. Two factors influence employee performance which is training and motivation. According to McConnel, training helps employees to become effective individuals to ensure future success while Manullang stated that motivation is a feeling that occurs in someone to act a certain way to achieve a certain goal.To study the connection between training, motivation, and employee performance, the design used by the writer is quantitative research with the descriptive and causal approach. The data collected for this research is through interviews and questionnaires. By utilizing Census sampling, 32 samples have been used. Based on the results, training and motivation does influence employee performance at Hotel Luxury, either partially or simultaneously, all data have passed validity, reliability, normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity test. As for recommendations, the hotel needs to exert extra effort towards the training of their employees especially on training to work together, motivate them to be challenged, and inviting professional trainers, as it is needed more than motivating their employees/Tenaga kerja adalah tulang punggung dari setiap bisnis yang sukses. Kinerja karyawan dalam suatu perusahaan dapat menentukan masa depan bisnis. Hotel Luxury, Bireun memiliki masalah dengan karyawannya mengenai layanan yang menyebabkan beberapa pelanggan mengeluh dan memberikan ulasan buruk kepada perusahaan mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pelatihan dan motivasi terhadap kinerja karyawan pada Hotel Luxury, Bireun.Ada dua faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja pegawai yaitu pelatihan dan motivasi. Menurut McConnel, pelatihan membantu karyawan untuk menjadi individu yang efektif untuk memastikan kesuksesan masa depan, sedangkan Manullang menyatakan bahwa motivasi adalah perasaan yang terjadi pada seseorang untuk bertindak dengan cara tertentu untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu.Untuk mempelajari hubungan antara pelatihan, motivasi, dan kinerja karyawan, desain yang digunakan penulis adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif dan kausal. Data yang dikumpulkan untuk penelitian ini adalah melalui wawancara dan kuesioner. Dengan menggunakan Sensus sampling, telah digunakan 32 sampel.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, pelatihan dan motivasi memang berpengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan di Hotel Luxury, baik secara parsial maupun simultan, semua data telah lulus uji validitas, reliabilitas, normalitas, multikolinearitas dan heteroskedastisitas. Adapun rekomendasi, pihak hotel perlu memberikan tenaga ekstra terhadap pelatihan karyawannya terutama pada pelatihan untuk bekerja sama, motivasi mereka supaya lebih tertantang dan mengundang pelatih profesional karena lebih dibutuhkan daripada memotivasi karyawannya.
