Abstract

Employees are one of the resources in a company that have feelings, desires, knowledge, encouragement, therefore employees could be one of the most valuable investments in a company and has important role in determining the success and failure of the company. Employee performance can be influence by many factors such as motivation, compensation and work environment. A good motivation, adequate compensation and positive work environment might motivate employee to use their best skills and abilities to achieve company objectives. In this research, the writer will find out whether motivation, compensation and work environment does affect employee performance at PT Jaya Hasil Laut. The research design for this research is quantitative method. In analyzing the data, the methods used are descriptive statistical analysis, research instrument test, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, hypothesis test and determination test. The population and sample of the company are 48 people and the sampling technique is census sampling which all of the population are used as samples. Based on the result of research, the conclusion of the research is motivation, compensation and work environment does affect simultaneously on employees’ performance at PT Jaya Hasil Laut, Medan. From the test conducted, the result shows that the data is normally distributed, have linear relationship and free of heteroscedasticity. An equation that was obtained is Y= 1.171 + 0.267 X1 + 0.533X2 + 0.265X3. The coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.613 which indicates that 61.3% factors that influence the employee performance at PT Jaya Hasil Laut is motivation, compensation and work environment while the other 38.7% is affected by other factors that are not analyzed in this research./ Karyawan merupakan salah satu sumber daya dalam sebuah perusahaan yang memiliki perasaan, keinginan, pengetahuan, dorongan, oleh karena itu karyawan dapat menjadi salah satu investasi yang paling berharga dalam sebuah perusahaan dan memiliki peran penting dalam menentukan keberhasilan dan kegagalan perusahaan. Kinerja karyawan dapat dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor seperti motivasi, kompensasi dan lingkungan kerja. Motivasi yang baik, kompensasi yang memadai dan lingkungan kerja yang positif dapat memotivasi karyawan untuk menggunakan keterampilan dan kemampuan terbaik mereka untuk mencapai tujuan perusahaan. Dalam penelitian ini penulis akan mengetahui apakah motivasi, kompensasi dan lingkungan kerja berpengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT Jaya Hasil Laut. Desain penelitian untuk penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif. Dalam menganalisis data, metode yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik deskriptif, uji instrumen penelitian, uji asumsi klasik, analisis regresi linier berganda, uji hipotesis dan uji determinasi. Populasi dan sampel perusahaan adalah 48 orang dan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah sensus sampling dimana seluruh populasi digunakan sebagai sampel. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa motivasi, kompensasi dan lingkungan kerja berpengaruh secara simultan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT Jaya Hasil Laut Medan. Dari pengujian yang dilakukan, diperoleh hasil bahwa data berdistribusi normal, memiliki hubungan linier dan bebas heteroskedastisitas. Persamaan yang diperoleh adalah Y= 1,171 + 0,267 X1 + 0,533X2 + 0,265X3. Koefisien determinasi (R2) sebesar 0.613 yang menunjukkan bahwa 61.3% faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan di PT Jaya Hasil Laut adalah motivasi, kompensasi dan lingkungan kerja sedangkan 38.7% lainnya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak dianalisis dalam penelitian ini.
