Abstract

"The hotel is an accommodation service business that is contained there in elements of service, comfort, and lodging facilities needed for those who want lodging facilities for family and vacation purposes. The aim of study to test the effect of communication on employee performance at Aryaduta Hotel Medan. Communication is still not optimal, thus causing a decrease in performance of employees which is reflected from the data of employee absenteeism.The theory used in this study is related to the theory of hospitality,communication and employee performance. In this research, the writer used quantitative reseach design. The writer used causal research. The sampling technique used is census sampling method. The population and sample amounted to 32 employees at Aryaduta Hotel Medan. The result of hypothesis test, communication have effect on employee performance at Aryaduta Hotel Medan. Furthermore, communication have 31.8% effect on employee performance at Aryaduta Hotel Medan. This research also passed the validity test, reliability test, normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, simple linear regression test and the equation is Y = 4,542 + 0,738 X Recommendations in order to improve employee performance is to improve communication with the employee how to set the rules of use of the indonesian language so that all employees easy to understand. / Hotel adalah bisnis layanan akomodasi yaitu yang terkandung di dalamnya unsur-unsur pelayanan, kenyamanan, dan fasilitas penginapan diperlukan untuk mereka yang ingin fasilitas penginapan untuk keluarga dan tujuan liburan. Tujuan studi untuk menguji pengaruh dari komunikasi terhadap kinerja karyawan di Aryaduta Hotel Medan. Komunikasi yang masih belum optimal sehingga menyebabkan penurunan kinerja karyawan yang tercermin dari data ketidakhadiran karyawan. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berhubungan dengan teori perhotelan, komunikasi dan kinerja karyawan. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan desain kuantitatif. Penulis menggunakan penelitian kausal. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah metode sensus sampling. Populasi dan sampel ini diberi 32 karyawan di Aryaduta Hotel Medan. Hasil tes hipotesis, komunikasi berdampak pada kinerja karyawan di Hotel Medan Aryaduta Hotel. Selain itu, komunikasi memiliki 31,8% efek pada kinerja karyawan di Hotel Aryaduta Medan. Penelitian ini juga melewati uji validitas, uji relabilitas, tes normalitas,heteredastisitas, analisis regresi sederhana dan persamaan adalah Y = 4,542 + 0,738 X Rekomendasi dalam rangka meningkatkan kinerja karyawan adalah dengan memperbaiki komunikasi kerja karyawan dengan cara menetapkan aturan pengunaan bahasa indonesia sehingga seluruh karyawan mudah paham."
