Abstract

PT XYZ runs an entertainment business that needs to monitor their hardware in every outlet across Indonesia. To save and process their monitoring data, PT XYZ already cooperated with AAM before, AAM put their tools and services at Amazon Web Services (AWS). They’re using AWS as their base for storage and processing services. To send data and communicate with AWS, PT XYZ currently uses a topology that uses VPN dial via public internet that are provided by local ISP at each outlet. While using VPN dial, it causes a few shortages both technically and operationally. PT XYZ has branch offices across Indonesia, with odds of each using different ISPs and it causes difficulties for PT XYZ, because PT XYZ needs to deal with a lot of third party ISPs. PT XYZ has to have operators for each outlet to deal with daily maintenance and to supervise the link locally. With existing topology, maintenance become decentralized and ineffective. If something need to be changed, such as router configuration, they need to have a local operator on site to do that. Also, when PT XYZ HQ office wants to manage the router on each outlet, they need a VPN connection for each outlet, because they can’t open all the routers at once. On this project, a new topology was made by PT ABC to communicate with Amazon Web Services. The new topology needs IPSec tunnel to facilitate data transfer and other functions. After implementing the new topology, it can be concluded that all of the problems are solved./ PT XYZ yang bergerak pada bidang hiburan mempunyai kebutuhan untuk me-monitor perangkat yang ada di setiap kantor cabang yang tersebar di seluruh Indonesia. Untuk menyimpan dan mengolah hasil monitoring perangkat, PT XYZ bekerja sama dengan AAM. AAM mempunyai dan menggunakan cloud service di Amazon Web Service (AWS) sebagai basis tempat pengolahan dan penyimpanannya. Untuk mengirimkan data dan berkomunikasi dengan AWS, PT XYZ menggunakan topologi yang memanfaatkan dial VPN melalui internet yang disediakan ISP. Dial VPN menimbulkan beberapa kekurangan, baik secara teknis maupun secara operasional. PT XYZ mempunyai kantor cabang yang tersebar di seluruh Indonesia, dan tidak menutup kemungkinan masing – masing kantor cabang menggunakan ISP yang berbeda. Hal tersebut menjadi kesulitan bagi PT XYZ karena harus berurusan dengan banyak pihak. PT XYZ membutuhkan operator pada setiap outlet untuk melakukan pengawasan terhadap jaringan. Dengan topologi yang digunakan sekarang, pengelolaan menjadi tidak terpusat dan tidak efektif. Ketika ada perubahan konfigurasi, PT XYZ juga membutuhkan operator di setiap outlet untuk melakukan modifikasi tersebut. Ketika kantor pusat PT XYZ ingin memanage router di setiap outlet, maka diperlukan koneksi VPN satu per satu ke setiap outlet. Pada projek ini dibuatlah topologi baru untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, PT ABC diminta oleh PT XYZ untuk membuat topologi baru. Topologi yang dibuat oleh PT ABC untuk berkomunikasi dengan Amazon Web Service membutuhkan IPSec tunnel. Berdasarkan penerapan topologi baru tersebut, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa semua masalah yang disebutkan diatas telah teratasi.
