Abstract

Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengeksplorasi suatu konsep baru yang disebut Kemampuan Manuver Taktis yang merupakan sintesis dari teori manuver dengan konsep flexibilitas, agilitas dan responsifitas organisasi. Hal ini dilakukan untuk menjawab studi-studi terdahulu mengenai dampak perencanaan strategis terhadap kinerja perusahaan, yang sampai derajad tertentu masih bersifat inkonklusif dan menjadi research gap penelitian ini. Penelitian ini juga menjawab pengaruh perencanaan strategis terhadap kinerja perusahaan, dan peran kemampuan manuver taktis sebagai mediasi perencanaan strategis dalam meningkatkan kinerja perusahaan. Penelitian ini juga mengajukan konsep kapabilitas inovasi yang bersama dengan kemampuan manuver dapat membantu menjelaskan dengan lebih baik peran dan mekanisme perencanaan strategis dalam meningkatkan kinerja perusahaan. Dengan mempertimbangkan kondisi persaingan pasar yang bersifat sangat dinamis, maka hal tersebut juga dipertimbangkan untuk mengetahui pengaruh intensitas persaingan pasar sebagai moderasi pada kekuatan hubungan antara perencanaan strategis dan kemampuan manuver. Dengan demikian, studi ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap kerangka pengetahuan bidang manajemen strategis dalam tiga aspek. Pertama, studi ini mengajukan model teoritikal baru dalam upaya memperjelas peran dan mekanisme pengaruh perencanaan strategis terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Kedua, studi ini mengajukan konsep, definisi, dan ukuran dari variabel kemampuan manuver taktis sebagai mediasi antara perencanaan strategis dengan kinerja perusahaan, sehingga dapat menjelaskan dengan lebih baik mengenai dampak dan mekanisme pengaruh perencanaan strategis terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Ketiga, studi ini memberikan bukti empiris pengaruh positif antara perencanaan strategis dengan kinerja perusahaan, baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung melalui mediasi kemampuan manuver dan kapabilitas inovasi. / This study intends to explore a new concept called organization tactical maneuverability which is a synthesis of maneuver theory with the concepts of organizational flexibility, agility and responsiveness. And to answer the research gap of previous studies regarding the impact of strategic planning on company performance, which to a certain degree are still inconclusive. This study also examines the effect of strategic planning on company performance, and the role of organizational maneuverability as a mediation of strategic planning in improving company performance. This study proposes the concept of innovation capability which together with organizational maneuverability can help to better explain the role and mechanism of strategic planning in improving company performance. Taking into account the dynamics of market competition, this study examines the effect of the intensity of market competition as a moderating factor that affect on the strength relationship between strategic planning and organizational maneuverability. This study contributes to the body of knowledge of strategic management in three aspects. First, this study proposes a new theoretical model in an effort to clarify the role and mechanism of the influence of strategic planning on company performance. Second, this study proposes the concept, definition, and measure of organizational maneuverability as a mediation between strategic planning and company performance, so as to better explain the mechanisms and direct/indirect impacts between strategic planning and company performance. Third, this study provides empirical evidence of the positive impact between strategic planning and firm performance, both directly and through mediating of organizational maneuverability and innovation capability.
