Abstract
In land registration to create a guarantee of legal certainty and legal protection to holders of land rights, a land certificate is issued. However, the use of analog land certificates is widely misused, such as being used for counterfeiting, mods, then very vulnerable to being lost, torn and so on. This is often misused by parties who want to commit criminal acts. Thus, the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN will implement a modern land registration system with an electronic land certificate. This electronic land certificate will be reviewed for validity based on UU 30 of 2014 and UU 19 of 2016. This research uses normative legal research methods, followed by data acquisition using primary data and secondary data. The many pros and cons regarding electronic land certificates had made the system postponed. This research will be a contribution to the academic literature based on the analysis that 1) based on existing regulations, electronic land certificates can be valid evidence. 2) electronic land certificate will be more secure and safe. 3) reduce the number of land certificate disputes in Indonesia.
