Abstract

In this era, technology is growing very fast, various aspects of life such as in the field of education will require information technology to compete. With the existence of information technology, data processing activities previously done manually can be run automatically. STIKes CHM-K is an institution of higher education that is engaged in health. At this time STIKes CHM-K has not utilized the information technology, in its operational in drafting students’ study plan form and in filling out or viewing student’s academic achievement report which currently done manually by using a paper form. The large number of students causes the process to be slow and inefficient. This research focuses on the development of an application which process students’ academic data. This application is developed using Rapid Application Development method, HTML and PHP programming languages, and MySQL database management system. With the implementation of this application, STIKes CHM-K is helped in storing and processing academic data and thus reduce the use of papers and optimalize the processing time./ Pada era ini, teknologi berkembang dengan sangat cepat, berbagai aspek kehidupan seperti dalam bidang pendidikan akan membutuhkan teknologi informasi untuk dapat bersaing. Dengan adanya teknologi informasi, kegiatan mengolah data yang sebelumnya dilakukan secara manual dapat dijalankan secara otomatis. STIKes CHM-K merupakan lembaga pendidikan tinggi yang bergerak dalam bidang kesehatan. Pada saat ini STIKes CHM-K belum memanfaatkan teknologi informasi, terlihat dari proses penyusunan kartu rencana studi (KRS) dan proses mengisi atau melihat kartu hasil studi (KHS) yang masih dilakukan secara manual menggunakan formulir kertas yang harus diisi dosen penasehat dan mahasiswa. Mengingat banyaknya jumlah mahasiswa menyebabkan proses tersebut menjadi lambat dan tidak efisien. Penelitian ini berfokus kepada pengembangan aplikasi yang mengolah data akademik seperti KRS dan KHS, yang mana aplikasi ini dikembangkan dengan metode Rapid Application Development. Pengembangan aplikasi ini dikerjakan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman HTML dan PHP, sedangkan untuk sistem penyimpanan basis data adalah MySQL. Aplikasi ini diharapkan membantu STIKes CHM-K dalam menyimpan dan mengolah data akademik, Sehingga dapat mengurangi penggunaan kertas dan mengoptimalkan waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk memroses data.
