Abstract

The passage of time does not change this area's reputation as a repository of traditional cultural heritage. This is due to the fact that the Palace, which is the only palace privileged by Indonesia, continues to exist in the form of positions, positions, duties, and authorities of the Governor and Deputy Governor, DIY government institutions, culture, land, and spatial planning until now. This kingdom is regarded as Yogyakarta's "heart" and "embryo," giving birth to diverse cultures and arts. Agnes Veronica, the author, will design dining room furniture inspired by Yogyakarta culture, especially the Palace, with a case study of a local furniture brand called Dio Living. This design will collect data to support the design process, both in terms of cultural knowledge and the needs and interests of the target market, using quantitative and qualitative methods. The cultures of Yogyakarta, specifically keraton, were then identified again using the IMO (Inner, Middle, Outer) method to learn more about the culture's physical elements, function elements, and meaning elements. This design led to the formation of a set of contemporary-style dining room furniture in accordance with the preferred style of target market and the personality of the Dio Living brand, while retaining the philosophical meaning of the Palace cultures that inspired the design.
