Abstract

Yayasan Pendidikan Pelita Harapan (YPPH) merencanakan pembangunan Sekolah Dian Harapan yang terletak di Karawang dengan salah satu konsep, yaitu dapat mewadahi sifat eksploratif yang dapat mengembangkan kognitif anak. Sehingga, lingkungan belajar penting untuk diperhatikan karena anak dapat menangkap indra dari lingkungan sekitar yang dapat mempengaruhi perasaan, tindakan dan perilaku anak. Selain itu, lingkungan yang tertata dengan baik dapat membantu memenuhi kebutuhan anak usia prasekolah selama bermain dan rutinitas. Lingkungan yang tertata dan menarik dapat diciptakan melalui penggunaan estetika dalam interior. Keindahan atau estetika sendiri digunakan oleh desainer untuk melengkapi kegunaan desain mereka dan meningkatkan fungsionalitas dengan tata letak yang menarik. Menurut Elina Grigoriou (2019), menciptakan ruangan interior yang menyenangkan akan mendukung kesejahteraan melalui keindahan dan juga menciptakan keselarasan dan pengkondisian pengguna dengan ruang yang mereka tempati. Maka dari itu, penggunaan prinsip desain melalui elemen interior dapat memberikan keindahan dan kesejahteraan pada ruang tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa banyak aplikasi nilai- nilai keindahan pada desain ruang belajar SDH Karawang untuk anak usia dini dan potensinya bagi perkembangan kognitif anak. Ruang belajar yang dikaji dari Sekolah Dian Harapan Karawang diidentifikasi melalui aktivitas-aktivitas yang dapat meningkatkan kognitif anak di sekolah. Data tersebut kemudian dianalisis menggunakan data kualitatif dengan metode evaluasi yang dijelaskan secara deskriptif. / Yayasan Pendidikan Pelita Harapan (YPPH) plans to build the Dian Harapan School located in Karawang with one of the concept, which is to accommodate exploratory traits that develop children's cognitive. Thus, the learning environment is important to pay attention to because children can capture the senses of the surrounding environment that can affect children's feelings, actions and behavior. In addition, a well-organized environment can help meet the needs of pre-schoolers during play and routines. An organized and attractive environment can be created through the use of aesthetics in the interior. Beauty or aesthetics is used by designers to complement the usability of their designs and enhance functionality with attractive layouts. According to Elina Grigoriou (2019), creating a pleasant interior space will support well-being through beauty and also create harmony and conditioning users with the space they occupy. Therefore, the use of design principles through interior elements can provide beauty and well- being in the space.This study aims to find out the many applications of beauty values in the design of the Karawang Elementary School for early childhood and its potential for children's cognitive development. Study rooms studied from the Dian Harapan School in Karawang were identified through activities that can improve children's cognitive at school. The data was then analyzed using qualitative data with an evaluation described descriptively.
