Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) merupakan gangguan perkembangan saraf yang kompleks, yang ditunjukan dengan gejala gangguan dalam komunikasi dan interaksi sosial dalam berbagai konteks, serta pola perilaku, minat, atau aktivitas yang terbatas dan berulang. Gangguan yang dialami oleh anak penyandang ASD terjadi karena input sensori tidak diintegrasikan secara tepat, yang dapat mengakibatkan persepsi yang tertunda bagi anak penyandang ASD. Transisi antar ruang memungkinkan individu untuk mengorientasikan diri dan menciptakan pemahaman tentang lingkungan. Pengelompokan ruang menurut tingkat stimulus sensori menjadi "high stimulus zone" dan "low stimulus zone", dengan zona transisi yang membantu perpindahan dari satu zona ke zona berikutnya menjadi bentuk pengungkapan informasi yang bertahap untuk membantu memperkuat familiaritas anak penyandang ASD dalam memproses ruang dan dapat memberikan kesempatan untuk berhenti sejenak di antara aktivitas. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memaparkan, menjelaskan, dan menganalisis data kualitatif dari rancangan ruang transisi pada intervensi desain President Special Needs Center, Cikarang berdasarkan elemen-elemen pembentuk ruang (lantai, dinding, dan langit-langit) dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. / Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental disability that affects the ability to communicate and interact in various contexts, as well as restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities. Improperly integrated sensory input of children with ASD can result in delayed perception. Transitions between spaces allow individuals to orient themselves and create an understanding of the environment they are in. Spaces are grouped according to stimulus level into "high stimulus zones" and "low stimulus zones", with transition zones that help move from one zone to the next. Transition zones can be a gradual form of information that help strengthen the familiarity of children with ASD in space processing and provide the opportunity to pause between activities. This study is done to describe, explain, and analyze qualitative data from the transition areas in the design intervention of President Special Needs Center, Cikarang based on the elements of form defining space (floors, walls, and ceilings) using a descriptive approach.
