Abstract

Ilmu pengetahuan luar angkasa merupakan pengetahuan yang banyak diminati oleh masyarakat di Jakarta. Untuk memahami ilmu luar angkasa lebih dalam, masyarakat memerlukan suatu wadah sebagai penyaluran informasi yang butuh diketahui dan memenuhi rasa ingin tahu masyarakat. Sedangkan, di Jakarta masih kurangnya wadah ilmu pengetahuan luar angkasa yang menarik perhatian masyarakat untuk menggali edukasi ilmu luar angkasa secara mendalam. Pemilihan lokasi proyek ini adalah di Jakarta Selatan yang terkenal dengan gaya hidup modern dan menjadi salah satu kota dengan banyak tempat untuk berkumpul yang saat ini sedang menarik perhatian masyarakat muda. Lokasi Jakarta Selatan memiliki berbagai macam pusat hobi, salah satunya adalah science fiction. Dengan hasil survei yang menyatakan science fiction sebagai faktor terbesar yang memengaruhi ketertarikan masyarakat pada luar angkasa, proyek pusat luar angkasa ini dirancang dengan menggunakan pendekatan narasi yang berbasis pada science fiction. Peran dari science fiction pada proyek ini adalah sebagai salah satu budaya populer yang menjembatani antara ilmu pengetahuan astronomi dengan masyarakat. Penyampaian edukasi dalam narasi science fiction dibantu dengan penggunaan furnitur berkonsep retro-futuristic yang bersifat motorik dan mekanistik. Aktivitas motorik dan mekanistik memberikan pengalaman yang lebih dalam panca indra pengunjung. Furnitur interaktif sebagai media penyampaian informasi edukatif pada setiap area di pusat luar angkasa ini mengundang pengunjung untuk dapat berpartisipasi dalam perolehan informasi edukatif yang disampaikan. Keterlibatan pengunjung akan informasi yang disampaikan akan membuat pengalaman ruang dan informasi yang disampaikan lebih membekas pada memori pengunjung, serta mudah dipahami. Untuk memberikan pengalaman ruang dalam penyampaian edukasi luar angkasa pada masyarakat, perlu adanya campur tangan dari elemen interior pada pusat luar angkasa ini dalam penggunaan material, warna, pencahayaan, penghawaan, akustik, serta sistem sirkulasi yang digunakan. Perancangan Pusat Luar Angkasa di Jakarta ini menjadi penting untuk memenuhi rasa ingin tahu masyarakat terhadap pengetahuan luar angkasa. / Many Jakarta citizens show interest in the education of outer space. According to the following data, individuals who show interest in education of outer space need a place that provides the educational information of outer space that needs to fulfil people’s curiosity and to understand further about the topic itself. Despite of the high interest of the topic, Jakarta is still yet to have an education center of the outer space that attract people’s attention and motivates them to learn further about outer space. The appointed site for this project is located in the South of Jakarta, which is known for its modern lifestyle that attracts the younger generations in this era. Various hobby centres can easily be found in South Jakarta, and that includes the science fiction. Based on the research for this study, the main factor that influence people’s interest in outer space is science fiction, this project was designed with a narrative approach based on science fiction stories. The role of science fiction in this project is as a bridge between the education of outer space with the people in Jakarta. The education with science fiction narrative approach was delivered to the visitor with the use of retro-futuristic furniture that involve visitors to do motoric and mechanistic activity. Motoric and mechanistic activities create more meaningful space experience to the visitors. The use of interactive furniture as a medium for delivering educative information makes the visitor participate in the delivery of the information itself. The involvement of visitors to get the educational information will make the educational information more imprinted in the visitor’s memory and easier to understand. To provide a meaningful space experience, the use of interior elements is very needed such as the use of material, colour, lighting, acoustics, and the circulation system. The design of this educational centre in Jakarta is important to fulfil people’s curiosity about the knowledge of the outer space.
