Abstract

Kaum lansia memiliki kebutuhan khas. / The elderly have unique needs. Their children understand it, but are constrained to fulfill it. The nursing home—which has experience in serving the elderly—should be the solution. But the elderly are still difficult to accept. Perhaps because of the bad precedent regarding nursing homes, plus the myth: "good" children will take care of their parents by themselves as an expression of their sense of responsibility and "reward". It seems that it is time for this crisis to be resolved. From the child's perspective: Acknowledging one's limitations, submitting service for the elderly to the experts, but still being present wholeheartedly on the side of their parents is also a wise expression of responsibility. From the side of the elderly: not living with children does not mean being excluded. But living with friends is an interesting and challenging choice. At least, interaction and communication will be more “connected”. From the perspective of social nursing homes, consumer accusations that are justified must be ended. The facilities must be qualified, the elderly must feel safe and comfortable living in the orphanage. The author believes that this project will be sustainable. Funds will flow in from the income of occupants' fees, member fees, space rent for partners, and the availability of physical and health facilities is guaranteed—both quality and sustainability. The memorable experience of the elderly visitors gradually changed their perception to be positive, then grew their own will to stay at Integrated Senior Living & Wellness Club.
