Abstract

This research designs SDR that is able to provide services not only for telephone and text communication, but also to distribute advertisement through SMS (Short Message Service). SDR can be assembled into an information exchange media in the form of BTS (Base Transceiver Station), where MiniBTS communication system is used as its BTS. In assembling a MiniBTS in addition to requiring an SDR, YateBTS protocol is also required to provide GSM services with the help of SDR, NiPC as layers for YateBTS and Spectrum Analyzer protocol activities to see the frequency points where SDRs can work optimally. SDR is also designed to be able to send advertising messages to more than one operator so that the coverage of SMS recipients becomes more widespread. Using a spectrum analyzer, SDR and MATLAB running on Windows-based OS, the BladeRF is able to operate best at 900 MHz, as evidenced by frequency charts and peak power comparison, BladeRF configuration transmission performance and a spectrum analyzer using cable connector is better and its frequency range is wider than antenna, with antenna and cable loss difference of 12-22 dB for frequencies <900 MHz and 20-38 dB in frequency range> 900 MHz. This happens because the bandwidth on the antenna than the cable. By using SDR and OS Linux Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Xenial Xerus which has been fitted with YateBTS protocol and NiPC web browser, MiniBTS can provide advertisement message service to the user. MiniBTS can also provide advertising message service to more than one operator. In terms of communication, the maximum distance of text message communication that users can accept within the building is 25.6 meters. While the maximum distance of text message communication that can be received by users in the open area is far as 27 meters, without using a repeater. While the maximum distance of text message communication that can be received is 79 meters after using the repeater./ Pada penelitian ini dirancang SDR yang mampu memberikan layanan tidak hanya sekadar komunikasi telepon maupun teks, tetapi juga mengedarkan iklan melalui SMS (Short Message Service). SDR dapat dirakit menjadi sebuah media pertukaran informasi berupa BTS (Base Transceiver Station), di mana dipakai sistem komunikasi MiniBTS sebagai BTS nya. Dalam merakit sebuah MiniBTS selain membutuhkan SDR, dibutuhkan pula protokol YateBTS untuk memberikan layanan GSM dengan bantuan SDR, dan NiPC sebagai layer untuk aktivitas protokol YateBTS dan Spectrum Analyzer untuk melihat titik frekuensi di mana SDR dapat bekerja secara maksimal. SDR juga dirancang untuk dapat mengirim pesan iklan ke lebih dari satu operator sehingga cakupan penerima SMS menjadi lebih luas. Dengan pengukuran menggunakan spectrum analyzer, SDR dan MATLAB yang berjalan di OS berbasis Windows didapatkan hasil bahwa BladeRF mampu beroperasi paling baik di frekuensi 900 MHz, yang dibuktikan dengan grafik perbandingan frekuensi dan peak power. Performa transmisi hasil konfigurasi BladeRF dan spectrum analyzer yang menggunakan media kabel lebih bagus dan jangkauan frekuensinya lebih luas daripada media antena, dengan perbedaan loss media antena dan kabel sekitar 12-22 dB untuk range frekuensi <900 MHz dan 20-38 dB di range frekuensi >900 MHz. Hal ini terjadi karena bandwidth yang ada pada antena lebih terbatas dari kabel. Dengan menggunakan SDR dan OS Linux Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Xenial Xerus yang telah dipasangi protokol YateBTS dan web browser NiPC, MiniBTS dapat memberikan layanan pesan iklan kepada pengguna. MiniBTS juga dapat memberikan layanan pesan iklan ke lebih dari satu operator. Dari segi komunikasi, jarak maksimum komunikasi pesan teks yang dapat diterima pengguna di dalam gedung sejauh 25,6 meter. Sedangkan jarak maksimum komunikasi pesan teks yang dapat diterima pengguna di area terbuka sejauh 27 meter, tanpa menggunakan repeater. Sedangkan jarak maksimum komunikasi pesan teks yang dapat diterima setelah menggunakan repeater adalah 79 meter.
