Abstract

Ruang terbuka hijau merupakan ruang yang diperuntukan bagi seluruh masyarakat. Sebagai ruang publik, ruang terbuka hijau harus bersifat democratic, yang berarti harus melindungi hak-hak pengguna, karena sejatinya ruang publik memperbolehkan pengguna untuk melakukan aktifitas apapun atau bebas (Carr, 1992). Namun, peristiwa privatisasi merusak fungsi dari ruang publik. Privatisasi dalam ruang publik sering terjadi dalam bentuk komersialisasi, seperti kondisi yang terdapat pada jalan Dr Sukaman, Harapan Kita, Karawaci. Lemahnya sense of place dalam sebuah ruang publik merupakan faktor yang menjadi dugaan awal terjadinya privatisasi. Kurangnya sense of place membuat ruang publik kurang diperhatikan sehingga kualitas ruang menurun. Ruang publik dengan kualitas yang kurang akan membuat ruang menjadi kurang menarik sehingga membuat pihak swasta mengambil alih dengan memprivatisasi ruang publik. Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari bagaimana kualitas pada ruang publik seperti continuity, proximity, connected, readable, walkable, convenient, serta accessible akan membuat ruang publik lebih berkualitas, sehingga pengguna ruang publik akan lebih nyaman dalam menggunakan ruang. Diharapkan ini akan memperkuat keterikatan pengguna dengan tempat tersebut sehingga terciptalah sense of place pada ruang publik, dan akhirnya jiwa stewardship pada pengguna, dimana pengguna akan melindungi sesuatu yang penting bagi mereka. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah perancangan Ruang Terbuka Hijau berikut fasilitasnya di wilayah Harapan Kita, Karawaci, Tangerang. Taman ini dirancang sebagai serangkaian ruang terbuka yang terkoneksi satu sama lain, dimana sistem sirkulasi pejalan kaki membentuk struktur ruang yang akan membantu pengendalian privatisasi di ruang publik ini. / Green open space is a space that is intended for the whole community. As a public space, green open space must be democratic, which means that it must protect the rights of users, because public space must allows users to carry out any activity or to be free (Carr, 1992). However, the privatization event undermined the function of the public sphere. Privatization in public spaces often occurs in the form of commercialization, such as the conditions around the Tangerang Regency Green Open Space, precisely on Jalan Dr Sukaman, Harapan Kita, Karawaci. Weak sense of place in a public space is a factor that became the initial suspicion of privatization. Lack of sense of place makes public space less attention so that the quality of space decreases. Public space with less quality will make the space less attractive so that it makes the private sector take over by privatizing public space. This research aims to study how the quality of public spaces such as continuity, proximity, connected, readable, walkable, convenient, and accessible will make public spaces more quality, so that public space users will be more comfortable in using the space. It is hoped that this will strengthen the user's attachment to the place so as to create a sense of place in the public space, and ultimately the spirit of stewardship in the user, where users will protect something that is important to them. The result of this research is the design of Green Open Space and its facilities in the Harapan Kita area, Karawaci, Tangerang. This park is designed as a series of open spaces that are connected to each other, where the pedestrian circulation system forms a spatial structure that will help control the privatization of this public space.
