Abstract

Program Studi Desain Interior Universitas Pelita Harapan Karawaci bekerja sama dengan Yayasan Pendidikan Pelita Harapan dalam membangun proyek ekspansi Sekolah Dian Harapan Holland Village yang akan dibangun secara 3 tahap di kawasan perumahan Holland Village, Manado. Proses desain pada proyek ekspansi ini dilakukan secara kolaborasi dimana desainer bersama kelompok bekerja sama dengan bimbingan kolaborator yaitu Sekolah Dian Harapan Holland VIllage. Proyek ini dijalankan berdasarkan permasalahan utamanya yaitu menambahnya jumlah murid setiap tahun dengan ruang yang terbatas pada existing Sekolah Dian Harapan Holland Village. Salah satu kekurangan yang sekolah existing ini miliki yaitu bangunan pada awalnya ditujukan untuk dijadikan sebuah shopping mall. Maka dari itu sistem penata ruang dan sirkulasi pada proyek existing Sekolah Dian Harapan Holland Village tergolong kurang maksimal berdasarkan teori maupun analisis. Dalam sekolah bukan hanya sistem pendidikan yang harus diperhatikan tetapi begitu juga keadaan fisik sekolah. Pemilihan tata ruang, sistem ventilasi, pencahayaan, dan juga elemen-elemen desain lainnya berpengaruh pada proses perkembangan fisik dan motorik anak yang akan berujung pada perkembangan perseptualnya. Terutama pada ruang kelas dimana ruangan ini menjadi lingkungan murid-murid setiap harinya saat proses pembelajaran utama. Karena proyek ekspansi ini direncanakan membangun dari tanah kosong yang dulunya merupakan soccer field sekolah existing sehingga perancangan ini memiliki kesempatan menjadi solusi desain dari proyek existing dan juga mengantisipasi permasalahan saat dan pasca pandemi. Perencanaan awal desain proyek ekspansi ini didasari pada kebutuhan pengguna ruang (human centered design). Hasil perancangan ini dihasilkan melalui riset dan wawancara dengan yang bersangkutan mengenai data Sekolah Dian Harapan Holland Village serta segala kebutuhan yang dibutuhkan untuk menjadi dasar dalam mendesain. Setelah melakukan riset, desainer memastikan dan melakukan perundingan bersama kolaborator mengenai data-data yang sudah didapatkan. Teori-teori dan hasil perundingan bersama kolaborator yang menjadi bahan dasar proses perancangan proyek ekspansi ini. / The Interior Design Program at Pelita Harapan University Karawaci colaborate with the Pelita Harapan Education Foundation in the Sekolah Dian Harapan Holland Village expansion project located in Holland Village residential area, Manado which is going to be built in 3 stages. The design process for this project is carried out in collaboration where the group of designer work together with the guidance of the collaborator, which is Sekolah Dian Harapan Holland Village. This project runs based on the main problem, namely increasing the number of students every year with limited available space at the existing building. One of the shortcomings that the current school has is that the building was originally built intended to be a shopping mall. Therefore, the spatial planning and circulation system there are classified as less than optimal based on theories and analysis. This project is planned to be built from vacant land which used to be the existing school’s soccer field which make the project could be the solution of existing’s problems in the form of design and not to mention to anticipate problems of the pandemic. This design was produced through research and interviews with those concerned regarding the data of Sekolah Dian Harapan Holland Village and all the information needed for the basis of designing. The results are used as the basis for the design process of this expansion project. The initial planning for the design of this expansion project is mainly based on the needs of the users. It is not only the education system that must be considered but also the physical condition of the school. The choice of every design element could affect the process of child development. Especially the classroom where the main learning process happens everyday.
