Abstract

This thesis is aimed at analysing the factors affect the bank performance in Indonesia classified into the Bank-Specific, Industry-Specific and Macroeconomic factors. In this study, the performance of banking is proxied by the ROA. Then Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Assets Quality (NPL), Operational Efficiency (ROA) and Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) are variable that explains Bank-Specific factors. Industry-Specific factors are explained by Concentration Rate and Bank Contribution. Macroeconomic factors are explained by GDP and Inflation. The research method using panel data regression estimation with Random Effect Model. Panel data covers 30 commercial banks which actively operating in Indonesia during the period 2006-2015. The results showed for Bank-Specific factors, variable NPL and BOPO are significant negative to ROA banking. And for Industry-Specific factors, variable Concentration Ratio are significant negative to ROA banking. And from the Macroeconomic factors, there are no significant effects. / Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap kinerja perbankan di Indonesia yang dilihat dari faktor Bank-Specific, Industry-Specific dan Makroekonomi. Dalam penelitian ini, kinerja perbankan diproksikan dengan ROA. Sedangkan untuk tingkat Kecukupan Modal (CAR), Kualitas Aktiva Produktif (NPL), Efisiensi Operasional (BOPO) dan Kemampuan Penyaluran Kredit (LDR) adalah variabel yang menjelaskan faktor Bank-Specific. Untuk faktor Industry-Specific dijelaskan dengan Concentration Rate dan Bank Contribution. Untuk faktor Makroekonomi diproksikan dengan PDB and Inflasi. Metode penelitian menggunakan estimasi regresi data panel dengan metode Random Effect Model terhadap 30 sampel bank umum nasional dan asing yang aktif beroperasi di Indonesia selama periode tahun 2006-2015. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari sisi faktor Bank-Specific, untuk NPL dan BOPO berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap ROA perbankan di Indonesia. Dan dari faktor Industry-Specific yang diproksikan menggunakan Concentration Ratio berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap ROA perbankan. Sedangkan di sisi Makroekonomi tidak ditemukan pengaruh yang signifikan.
