Abstract

Buku Pencarian Belum Selesai; Fragmen Otobiografi Toeti Heraty merupakan sebuah analisis biografis dari perjalanan hidup Toeti Heraty dengan sudut pandang feminis. Buku ini memiliki topik yang masih relevan di Indonesia hingga saat ini dan juga memiliki potensi besar untuk diminati oleh generasi sekarang, namun potensi tersebut tidak berhasil dimaksimalkan dengan rancangan buku yang tergolong formal dan konvensional. Buku ini juga memiliki beberapa masalah visual dan memerlukan pembaruan desain karena sudah tergolong lama dan tidak memiliki target audiens yang spesifik. Konsep yang digunakan dalam perancangan ulang ini adalah buku yang berbasis scrapbook. Perancangan ulang buku ini juga menggunakan kata ‘pencarian’ sebagai salah satu konsep utama dari buku. Scrapbook merupakan sebuah cara yang eksploratif dan menarik untuk melestarikan cerita dan memori dari seseorang, sehingga mampu mengoptimalkan potensi buku dan memunculkan kesan yang lebih personal dan intim antara pembaca dengan Toeti Heraty sendiri. Perancangan ulang buku memiliki sebuah sintaktik namun setiap bab memiliki konsep tersendiri untuk memaksimalkan emosi yang ingin ditampilkan. Yang diharapkan melalui perancangan ulang buku ini adalah supaya perancangan ulang ini dapat menjadi sebuah pendekatan yang baru dan eksperimental untuk sebuah buku otobiografi dan supaya para pembaca dapat merasakan sebuah pengalaman yang berharga dan personal saat membaca buku ini. / Pencarian Belum Selesai; Toeti Heraty's Autobiographical Fragment is a book about the biographical analysis of Toeti Heraty's life journey from a feminist perspective. This book includes topics that are still relevant in Indonesia today and has a great potential to be of interest to the current generation, but this potential has not been successfully maximized with a book design that appears too formal and conventional. This book has some visual problems and needs a redesign as it’s design is quite outdated and the book itself does not have a specific target audience. The concept used in this redesign project is a scrapbook-based book. This book redesign also uses the word 'pencarian' as one of the main concepts of the book. Scrapbooking is an exploratory and interesting way to preserve stories and memories of a person, this approach is used to optimize the potential of the book and create a more personal and intimate impression and relation between the reader and Toeti Heraty herself. The redesign of the book has a syntax but each chapter has its own concept to maximize the emotions of each chapter. Perhaps through the redesign of this book, it can be a new and experimental approach towards an autobiographical book, so that readers can experience a valuable and personal experience while reading an autobiographical book.
