Abstract

Mobile Game (video game) is an electronic game played using a mobile phone. In the era of people who have high mobility, mobile games are now dominating the market. Online games especially mobile legends have entered Indonesia since 2014. Play games now is not just to fill the spare time, but has become a necessity. This study aims to determine the motive of the use of mobile legends game through hierarchy of needs analysis. The method used in this research is descriptive with Qualitative approach. Data obtained through process, Interview, Observation, and Documentation. The results of this study indicate that of the three levels of hierarchy of needs, a sense of belonging will arise in a team in the game. The next level is when someone plays well, it will appear self-confidence and self-esteem. The highest level is the stage of self-actualization when a person is given a trust for a position and the player can reach the peak of his performance by playing very well./ Game Mobile (video game) adalah sebuah game elektronik dimainkan menggunakan telepon selular. Di era masyarakat yang memiliki mobilitas tinggi, mobile game kini merajai pasar. Game online khususnya mobile legends sudah memasuki Indonesia sejak tahun 2014. Bermain game sekarang ini bukan hanya sekedar untuk mengisi waktu luang, melainkan sudah menjadi kebutuhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motif penggunaan game mobile legends melalui analisis hierarchy of needs. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif dengan pendekatan Kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui proses, Wawancara, Observasi, dan Dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari ketiga tingkatan hierarchy of needs, rasa ingin dimiliki akan timbul dalam sebuah tim dalam permainan tersebut. Tingkatan berikutnya yaitu ketika sesorang bermain dengan baik, maka akan muncul rasa percaya diri dan penghargaan pada diri sendiri. Tingkatan paling tinggi yaitu tahapan aktualisasi diri ketika seseorang diberikan kepercayaan untuk sebuah posisi dan pemain tersebut dapat mencapai puncak prestasinya dengan bermain sangat bagus.
