Abstract

Restoran merupakan salah satu industri kuliner yang mengalami pertumbuhan di Indonesia. Hal ini dapat menimbulkan persaingan yang semakin kompetitif. Para pelaku usaha melakukan berbagai cara untuk bersaing dan bertahan di pasar, yaitu dengan menciptakan citra merek melalui identitas visual yang kuat, agar dapat dikenal dan diingat oleh masyarakat. Gado-Gado Boplo merupakan sebuah restoran legendaris di Jakarta yang sudah berdiri sejak 1970 hingga saat ini. Berawal dari sebuah kedai kecil kemudian berkembang pesat menjadi sebuah restoran modern dengan konsep “Ahli makanan tradisional Indonesia”. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara, identitas visual yang dimiliki kurang merepresentasikan citra yang ingin dibangun dan sistem identitas visual kurang konsisten dan koheren. Selain itu, nama brand kurang relevan dengan konsep restoran saat ini, sehingga adanya perubahan nama menjadi Boplo. Oleh karena itu, proyek akhir ini bertujuan untuk merancang ulang identitas visual dengan menggunakan nama brand yang baru dan menerapkan sistem identitas visual secara konsisten dan koheren. Tahapan perancangan yang dilakukan adalah pengumpulan data, analisis data dan visual, serta perancangan visual yang dilandasi dengan kajian teori. Hasil perancangan ulang identitas visual akan menjadi relevan dengan konsep, citra, perkembangan restoran dan diimplementasikan ke berbagai brand touchpoint. / Restaurants are one of the growing culinary industries in Indonesia. This can lead to increasingly competitive competition. various ways are used to survive and compete in the market, including establishing a brand image through a strong visual identity that can be recognized and remembered by the public. Gado-Gado Boplo is a legendary restaurant in Jakarta that has been established since 1970 until now. Starting from a small shop then developed rapidly into a modern restaurant with the concept of “Ahli Makanan Tradisional Indonesia”. Based on the results of observations and interviews, their visual identity are less representative of the image they want to build and the visual identity system is less consistent and coherent. In addition, the brand name is less relevant to the current restaurant concept, so the name changes to Boplo. Therefore, this final project aims to redesign the visual identity by using a new brand name and applying a consistent and coherent visual identity system. The design stages carried out are data collection, data and visual analysis, and visual design based on theoretical studies. The results of the redesign for Boplo will be relevant to the concept, image, restaurant development, and implemented in various brand touchpoints.
