Abstract

Penulisan ini membahas tentang sebuah peracangan buku ilustrasi adaptasi novel “Si Anak Spesial’. Hal yang melatar belakangi adanya peracangan ini adalah untuk memudahkan anak-anak dalam memahami pesan serta makna yang ingin disampaikan dari sebuah cerita, juga memaksimalkan manfaat bacaan anak, serta membantu anak-anak yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami teks bacaan. Selain itu, penulis juga ingin meningkatkan ketertarikan anak dalam upaya untuk melestarikan bacaan lokal. Dalam perancangan digunakan teori-teori pendukung untuk mendesain buku seperti sistem grid, gaya ilustrasi, warna, tipografi, layout, dan lainnya. Dalam analisa data dan konten menggunakan metode perancangan berbasis ‘’ dan metode pembedahan karya fiksi seperti freytag’s pyramid, dan unsur pembangunnya. Berdasarkan hasil analisa konten, digunakan dua kata kunci visual yaitu ‘playful’ dan ‘nature’. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan ada perancangan ini dapat membantu anak dalam memahami teks dengan menghadirkan visual pendamping. Melalui buku ilustrasi ini, penulis berharap agar mampu memperkenalkan, meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman anak terhadap buku bacaan anak karya lokal. / This paper is discussing about the design of an illustrated children book adaptation of novel ‘The Special Child’. The background of this project are the needs to help children with moral and character learning, to maximizing the benefits of children book, and to help those children who have a hard time understanding written text. Besides, writer also sense the urgency to increase child’s interest as an effort to conserve local works. In this project, applied several theories to support the design process, such as grid system, illustration style, color, typography, layout, and so forth. Meanwhile data analysis are using freytag’s pyramid method, The ‘freytag’s pyramid’ and ‘structur elements’ used to learn more about the content. Thus playful and nature are chosen to be the visual keywords. So, the project happened to help children to undertand text with the help of visual as a companion. Writer wish that this illustrated children book adequate enough to introduce, increase interest and child’s understanding towards local’s children book.
