Abstract

Film dan narasi merupakan bentuk seni yang memiliki kemampuan untuk mempengaruhi audiens, salah satunya adalah melalui emosi dan perasaan yang ditimbulkan, baik perasaan baik yang positif ataupun buruk. Dalam tugas akhir ini dibahas mengenai teori, laporan dan penerapan dari pembuatan film pendek "Harum Melati" dari sudut pandang penulis selaku sutradara. Film "Harum Melati" berceritakan mengenai ironi dari kisah hidup seorang minoritas gadis Tionghoa yang menghadapi dampak dari pergolakan politik yang mengambil latar waktu pasca kemerdekaan Indonesia tahun 1946. Riset yang dilakukan dalam tahap pembuatan film "Harum Melati" adalah wawancara, membaca buku, karya ilmiah dan artikel serta film yang digunakan sebagai referensi visual. Proses perancangan film "Harum Melati" dibagi menjadi beberapa tahap yaitu proses pra produksi, produksi dan pasca produksi. Melalui film "Harum Melati" penulis berharap dapat merepresentasikan kaum minoritas Tionghoa dalam konteks menjadi bagian dan saksi dari sejarah Indonesia zaman penjajahan Belanda serta mengingatkan audiens untuk sadar tetap menjunjung kesatuan di dalam kesenjangan ekonomi dan jarak antar ragam budaya yang ada di Indonesia. / Film and narrative are art forms that have the ability to influence audiences through the emotions and feelings they evoke, both positive and negative feelings. This final project contains the theory, report and application of the short film "Harum Melati" from the writer's point of view as the director. The film "Harum Melati" tells about the irony of the life story of a minority Chinese girl facing the impact of the political upheaval that took place in Indonesia’s post-independence era in 1946. The research carried out in the making of the film "Harum Melati" included interviews, reading books, scientific works and articles, as well as films used as visual references. The process of designing the film "Harum Melati" is divided into several stages, namely the pre-production, production and post-production processes. Through "Harum Melati" the author hopes to represent the Chinese minority in the context of being witnesses and a part of the history of Indonesia during the Dutch colonial, era as well as reminding the audience to actively uphold unity in the midst of economic and cultural gap that exist in Indonesia.
