Abstract
China's economic progress made a distribution of power between Americans States and China are changing. This encourages China to be more aggressive in foreign policy. One of the policies adopted is to change The Status Quo is to reflect China's new strength. This is opposed by the United States benefiting from the existing Status Quo. Difference national interests between the two make strategic competition not inevitable again. For this reason, research is needed to find out everything the factors that led to the strategic competition of the United States and China. This study uses a qualitative approach with methods descriptive research. Research data collection is done through data secondary literature study. The results showed that the factors causing it Strategic competition between the United States and China is occurring changes in the distribution of forces and national interests that are different from Status Quo. / Kemajuan ekonomi China membuat distribusi kekuatan antara Amerika Serikat dan China berubah. Hal ini mendorong China untuk lebih agresif dalam kebijakan luar negerinya. Salah satu kebijakan yang ditempuh adalah mengubah Status Quo untuk merefleksikan kekuatan China yang baru. Hal tersebut ditentang oleh Amerika Serikat diuntungkan oleh Status Quo yang ada. Perbedaan kepentingan nasional antara keduanya membuat persaingan strategis tidak terhindarkan lagi. Untuk itu, diperlukan penelitian untuk mengetahui apa saja faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan persaingan strategis Amerika Serikat dan China. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian deskriptif. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan melalui data sekunder berupa studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinya persaingan strategis antara Amerika Serikat dan China adalah terjadinya perubahan distribusi kekuatan dan kepentingan nasional yang berbeda terhadap Status Quo.
