Abstract

Korea Selatan sudah beberapa dekade terakhir menjadi salah satu kekuatan ekonomi di Asia dengan mendatangkan sesuatu hal yang baru dan menarik dalam industri hiburan dunia. Korean wave meyebar ke seluruh dunia termasuk juga di Indonesia, Korean wave yang dapat di artikan sebagai gelombang penyebaran kebudayaan Korea Selatan melalui drama, musik, fashion, makanan dan berbagai macam produk kecantikan dari Korea Selatan. Korean Drama atau K-Drama sebagai salah satu yang digemari masyarakat Indonesia. Menurut survei yang dilakukan oleh peneliti LIPI pada tahun 2020 ialah pada saat sebelum pandemi Covid 19 responden yang menonton K-drama di Indonesia hanya menghabiskan waktu 2,7 jam per hari namun selama pandemi Covid 19 terjadi peningkatan menjadi 4,6 jam per hari. Dan berdasarkan hasil penelitian LIPI ini peningkatan penonton K-drama terjadi di masa pandemi Covid 19 di Indonesia yaitu sebanyak 92,6% responden adalah perempuan dan 7,4% lainnya adalah laki-laki (Nadila et al., 2020). Penelitian ini meneliti enam informan pria di Jakarta yang berusia dari usia 15-28 tahun dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan wawancara mendalam. Menggunakan teori dan konsep uses and gratification. Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk kepuasan yang dicari dan kepuasan yang diajukan penonton pria di Jakarta dalam menonton drama Korea. Kata kunci: K-drama, kepuasan dan motif penonton, uses and gratification ,penonton pria / South Korea has been in recent decades become one of the economic powerhouses in Asia by bringing something new and interesting to the world's entertainment industry. The Korean wave spreads throughout the world, including in Indonesia, the Korean wave which can be interpreted as a wave of spreading South Korean culture through drama, music, fashion, food and various kinds of beauty products from South Korea. Korean Drama or K-Drama is one of the favorites of the Indonesian people. According to a survey conducted by LIPI researchers in 2020, before the Covid 19 pandemic, respondents who watched K-drama in Indonesia only spent 2.7 hours per day, but during the Covid 19 pandemic there was an increase to 4.6 hours per day. And based on the results of this LIPI study, the increase in K-drama viewers occurred during the Covid 19 pandemic in Indonesia, namely 92.6% of respondents were women and 7.4% were men (Nadila et al., 2020). This study examined six male informants in Jakarta aged 15-28 years using a qualitative approach and in-depth interviews. Using the theories and concepts of uses and gratifications. The purpose of this study was to determine the satisfaction sought and the satisfaction proposed by male audiences in Jakarta in watching Korean dramas.
