Abstract

Respons organisasi non-pemerintah pro-choice merupakan salah satu fenomena yang perlu diperhatikan dalam menanggapi implementasi Mexico City Policy Amerika Serikat terutama pada masa pemerintahan Donald Trump, tahun 2017-2021. Kebijakan ini tidak hanya mempengaruhi aktivitas organisasi non pemerintah dalam pemberian layanan aborsi, namun juga kesehatan dan hak reproduksi dan seksual secara langsung dan tidak langsung. Kerjasama dilakukan oleh berbagai pihak sebagai tanggapan dari kebijakan ini. Terlebih setelah Trump memperluas jangkauan kebijakan tersebut. Sehingga tentu saja, terdapat berbagai tanggapan dari banyak pihak terutama kelompok organisasi pro- choice yang mendukung aborsi yang legal dan aman. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yang menggambarkan implementasi Mexico City Policy periode pemerintahan Trump, dan menjelaskan tanggapan organisasi organisasi non pemerintah pro-choice serta aktor terlibat lainnya terhadapimplementasi kebijakan tersebut. Dengan data-data sekunder, penelitian ini memperoleh data melalui studi kepustakaan dari berbagai jurnal, situs resmi, buku, dan lainnya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa kelompok organisasi non pemerintah asing Amerika Serikat, terutama mereka dengan idealisme prochoice cenderung sangat tidak setuju terhadap Mexico City Policy yang telah diperluas ini. Dan bahkan, sebagai respons, melakukan berbagai gerakan yang mengadvokasi aborsi legal dan aman. / The response of pro-choice non-governmental organizations is one phenomenon thatneeds to be considered in responding to the implementation of the United States' Mexico City Policy, especially during the Donald Trump administration, 2017-2021. The policy greatly affects not only the activities of non-governmental organizations in providing abortion services, but also towards health and reproductive and sexual rights directly and indirectly. Cooperation is carried out by various parties in response to this policy. Especially after Trump expanded the range of the policy. Therefore, it is expected that there are various responses from many parties, especially pro-choice organizations that support legal and safe abortion. This study uses a qualitative method that describes the implementation of the Mexico City Policy during the Trump administration, and explains the responses of pro- choice non-governmental organizations and other involved actors to the implementation of the policy. Using secondary data, this research obtains data through literature studies from various journals, official websites, books, and other sources. Based on the results of the study, it was found that groups of US foreign nongovernmental organizations, especially those with pro-choice ideals, tended to strongly disagree with the expanded Mexico City Policy. And even, in response, carried out various movements advocating legal and safe abortion.
