Abstract

Latar belakang : Irigasi nasal merupakan metode prosedur mencuci rongga hidung untuk mengeluarkan mukus, debris, dan kontaminan udara lainnya sehingga meningkatkan transpor mukosiliar. Irigasi nasal dilakukan sebagai upaya pencegahan dan pengobatan terhadap gangguan pada saluran pernapasan atas terutama pada rongga hidung. Metode ini umumnya aman dilakukan bagi masyarakat yang tidak memiliki kontraindikasi terhadap irigasi nasal, walaupun demikian dapat terjadi perasaan yang tidak nyaman seperti rasa panas pada jika prosedur yang dilakukan tidak sesuai. Tujuan penelitian : Untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pengetahuan dan perilaku irigasi nasal dengan cairan salin normal pada masyarakat umum di Jabodetabek. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi potong lintang (cross�sectional) terhadap sampel dari data masyarakat umum di Jabodetabek dari usia 12 – 45 tahun dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling menggunakan analisa data kai kuadrat. Hasil : Dari total 82 sampel yang terkumpul, ditemukan hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan kurang terhadap perilaku kurang pada sampel penelitian dengan OR = 5,34 (95% CI = 1,35 – 21,14) dan nilai p: 0,01 sedangkan ditemukan hubungan yang tidak signifikan antara pengetahuan sedang terhadap perilaku kurang dengan OR= 2,55 (95% CI = 0,79 – 8,21) dan nilai p: 0,11 Kesimpulan : Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan kurang terhadap perilaku kurang Kata kunci : Pengetahuan, perilaku, irigasi nasal, pencegahan, pengobatan / Background : Nasal irrigation is an examination method in the nasal cavity to remove mucus, debris, and other air contaminants thereby increasing mucociliary transport. Nasal irrigation is carried out as an effort to prevent and treat upper respiratory disorders, especially in the nasal cavity. This method is generally safe for people who do not have contraindications to nasal irrigation, however, discomfort such as burning sensation may occur if the procedure is not performed properly. Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge and behavior of nasal irrigation with normal saline fluids in the general public in Jabodetabek. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional study method on samples from the general public in Jabodetabek from the age of 12 - 45 years people who were selected using purposive sampling technique, using chi-square data analysis. Results: From a total of 82 samples collected, a significant relationship was found between poor knowledge and bad behavior in the study sample with OR = 5.34 (95% CI = 1.35 – 21.14) and p-value: 0.01 while it was found no significant relationship between moderate knowledge and bad behavior with OR = 2,55 (95% CI = 0,79 – 8,21) and p-value: 0.11 Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between bad knowledge and bad behavior Keywords: Knowledge, behavior, nasal irrigation, prevention, treatment
