Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji secara empiris pengaruh penggunaan serat selulosa pada sifat mekanis aspal panas dengan polimer modified bitumen pada variasi kecepatan beban uji. Penggunaan campuran aspal panas atau HMA merupakan satu inovasi yang dilakukan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan perkerasan jalan lentur. Dengan bertambahnya kebutuhan perkerasan jalan di Indonesia, maka dibutuhkan pengembangan kualitas perkerasan. Salah satu bentuk pengembangan kualitas dapat dilakukan dengan penggunaan serat selulosa pada campuran dense graded dan penggunaan polymer modified bitumen (PMB) sebagai material perekat. Penggunaan serat selulosa diharapkan untuk meningkatkan stabilitas dari campuran aspal. Penambahan fiber dilakukan pada saat pengadukan campuran dengan kadar 0,3%, 0,4%, dan 0,5%. Digunakan kadar aspal optimum sebesar 7% untuk penelitian ini dengan tipe PMB PG76. Dilakukan pengujian semi circular bendingterhadap campuran dense graded dengan variasi kecepatan pembebanan 0,25 mm/menit, 0,5 mm/menit, dan 1 mm/menit. Setelah dilakukan pengujian, hasil menunjukkan bahwa penambahan serat selulosa pada campuran dense graded meningkatkan nilai Tegangan pada Beban Maksimum pada benda uji dengan kadar serat 0,3% sebesar 43,75%(0,25mm/menit), 29,83%(0,5mm/menit), dan 13,75%(1mm/menit). Meningkat pada nilai Critical Strain Energy Release pada benda uji dengan kadar serat 0,3% sebesar 24,54 (0,25mm/menit), 22,54%(0,5mm/menit), dan 38,2%(1mm/menit). Penggunaan serat selulosa dapat digunakan pada campuran dense graded akan tetapi penelitian lebih lanjut masih diperlukan dikarenakan variasi yang luas dalam sifat yang diukur. / This study aims to empirically examine the effect of the use of cellulose fiber on the mechanical properties of hot mixed asphalt with polymer modified bitumen on variations of loading speed. The use of hot mix asphalt or HMA is an innovation made to meet the needs of flexible road pavements. With the increasing demand for road pavements in Indonesia, it is necessary to develop pavement quality. One form of quality development can be done by using cellulose fiber in dense graded asphalt and the use of polymer modified bitumen (PMB) as an adhesive material. The use of cellulose fiber is expected to increase the stability of the asphalt mixture. The addition of fiber was carried out at the time of stirring the mixture with rates of 0.3%, 0.4%, and 0.5%. The optimum asphalt content of 7% was used for this research with PMB type PG76. Semi circular bending test was performed on the dense graded mixture with variations in the loading speed of 0.25 mm/minute, 0.5 mm/minute, and 1 mm/minute. After testing, the results showed that the addition of cellulose fiber to the dense graded mixture increased the stress value at maximum load on the test specimens with a fiber content of 0.3% by 43.75% (0.25mm/min), 29.83%(0.5mm/min), and 13.75%(1mm/min). Increased in the value of Critical Strain Energy Release on test specimens with 0.3% fiber content of 24.54%(0.25mm/min), 22.54%(0.5mm/min), and 38.2%(1mm/min). Cellulose fibers can be used in dense graded mixtures but further research is needed due to the wide variation in the properties measured.
