Abstract

Kerusakan yang terjadi pada aspal terjadi akibat beberapa faktor diantaranya yaitu besarnya beban, durasi pembebanan dan perubahan cuaca. Besarnya beban dan durasi pembebanan berpengaruh pada kemampuan aspal untuk menahan deformasi. Faktor lain yang menyebabkan kerusakan pada permukaan aspal adalah perubahan cuaca. Curah hujan yang tinggi maupun air pasang dapat menyebabkan genangan air pada permukaan jalan yang mengakibatkan terjadinya moisture damage. Hal ini dapat terjadi akibat dari hilangnya ikatan antara bitumen dengan agregat yang disebabkan oleh kelembaban atau yang disebut dengan fenomena stripping. Untuk mengatasi fenomena ini maka ditambahkan anti stripping agent untuk memperkuat ikatan antara bitumen dan agregat. Dalam proses penelitian ini maka campuran aspal ditambahkan produk anti stripping agent yang berasal dari Nouryon. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh dari variasi kecepatan pembebanan dan penambahan anti stripping agent terhadap sifat mekanis dari aspal yang diuji dengan semi circular bending test. Penelitian ini menggunakan kadar aspal optimum sebesar 6%. Pengujian semi circular bending dilakukan dengan dua kecepatan pembebanan yaitu 0,25 mm/min dan 0,5 mm/min terhadap benda uji yang belum ditambahkan anti stripping agent dan yang telah ditambahkan anti stripping agent dengan kadar 0,2%, 0,3% dan 0,4%, dan dalam dua kondisi yaitu kering dan basah. Hasil dari pengujian semi circular bending dalam kondisi basah dengan kecepatan pembebanan 0,5 mm/min menunjukkan bahwa benda uji yang ditambahkan anti stripping agent dengan kadar 0,2% mengalami peningkatan pada beberapa parameter sifat mekanis yaitu tegangan pada beban maksimum sebesar 56,296%, fracture energy 105,873%, fracture toughness 55,711% dan cracking resitance index sebesar 33,006%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan dalam kondisi basah dengan kecepatan pembebanan 0,5 mm/min performa terbaik dari campuran aspal adalah pada benda uji yang ditambahkan anti stripping agent dengan kadar 0,2%. / Damages to asphalt occur due to several factors including the magnitude of the load, duration of loading, and exposure to weather. The magnitude of the load and the duration of loading affect the asphalt's ability to withstand deformation. While exposure to weather, like high rainfall intensity and tides, creates prolonged contact between asphalt mixture and water that leads to moisture damage. Moisture damage causes the loss of bond between bitumen and aggregate and is known as stripping. To overcome stripping, anti-stripping agent is added to increase the bond between bitumen and aggregate. In this research, anti-stripping agent product from Nouryon is added to asphalt mixture. This research aims to identify the effect of variations in loading speed and the addition of anti-stripping agent on the mechanical properties of asphalt which was tested with the semi-circular bending test. This research uses a 6% optimum asphalt content in the asphalt mixture. Semi circular bending testing is conducted with two variations in loading speeds, 0,25 mm/min and 0,5 mm/min, on specimens without anti-stripping agents as control specimens and on specimens with concentration of 0,2%, 0,3% and 0,4% anti-stripping agent. Moreover, testing also conducted for specimens in dry and wet conditions for all variations. The results of the semi-circular bending test in wet conditions with a loading speed of 0,5 mm/min showed that the specimens added with 0,2% anti-stripping agent exhibited the best value and improvements in various parameters of the mechanical properties when compared to control specimens. The stress at maximum load increases by 56,296%, fracture energy 105,873%, fracture toughness 55,711% and cracking resitance index 33,006%. The finding in this research concludes that the addition of 0,2% anti-stripping agent improves asphalt mixture performance in wet condition.
