Abstract

In the world of education the most need for knowledge to learn is in children, especially early childhood. Early childhood certainly really needs lessons on how to spell the alphabet and numbers because these two things are the most basic things for children's learning growth. The current learning process is usually carried out at school and also during tutoring. The learning process carried out in schools is sometimes quite boring if the teacher who teaches is too rigid and only uses the media of printed books. Even though the learning process with the concept of playing or quizzes is certainly more interesting for children, especially young children who are just starting school. In addition, the learning process in schools or called Play Groups usually uses learning books that are quite expensive but do not provide much effectiveness in teaching. In this study, a learning educational application will be designed and developed specifically for young children who want to learn the alphabet and numbers in Indonesian and English with more complete features. The application is built based on Android and can be accessed via a smartphone so that it can be used by teachers in supporting the teaching process. Based on the results of the tests carried out, the application was played by 20 early childhood children, namely kindergarten children, guided by 3 teachers, within a month, it was concluded that 18 out of 20 children understood how to pronounce the alphabet and write the alphabet well./ Dalam dunia pendidikan yang paling membutuhkan pengetahuan untuk belajar adalah pada anak-anak khususnya anak usia dini. Anak usia dini tentu sangat membutuhkan pelajaran mengenai cara mengeja alfabet dan juga angka dikarenakan kedua hal itu adalah hal yang paling dasar untuk pertumbuhan pembelajaran anak. Proses pembelajaran saat ini biasanya dilakukan di sekolah dan juga pada saat bimbingan belajar. Proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan di sekolah terkadang cukup membosankan jika guru yang mengajar terlalu kaku dan hanya memanfaatkan media buku cetak. Padahal proses pembelajaran dengan konsep bermain atau kuis tentunya lebih menarik minat belajar anak-anak khususnya anak usia dini yang baru bersekolah. Selain itu proses pembelajaran di sekolah atau disebut Play Group biasanya menggunakan buku-buku pembelajaran yang cukup mahal namun tidak memberikan efektifitas yang banyak dalam melakukan pengajaran. Pada penelitian ini, akan dirancang dan dikembangkan sebuah aplikasi edukasi pembelajaran yang dikhususkan untuk anak usia dini yang ingin belajar alfabet dan angka dalam Bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris dengan fitur yang lebih lengkap. Aplikasi yang dibangun berbasis Android dan dapat diakses melalui smartphone sehingga dapat digunakan oleh guru dalam mendukung proses pengajaran. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian yang dilakukan, aplikasi dimainkan oleh 20 anak usia dini yaitu anak TK dengan dipandu oleh 3 guru dalam rentang waktu sebulan didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa 18 dari 20 anak menjadi paham cara untuk melafalkan alfabet dan menulis alfabet secara baik.
