Abstract

The stock returns is very important as it is one of the factors that motivates investors to invest and a reward for the courage of investors to bear the risk of investment they do. In the stock market, there is not always a promising return for investors. Therefore, stock returns will be very interesting as a dependent variable in this research since it may be a references for the investors who wants to invest in the companies. The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of Return on Equity, Earnings Per Share and Debt to Equity Ratio on Stock Returns. The population of this research is manufacturing companies sub sector consumer goods industries listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during period of 2017 to 2020. Based on purposive sampling method, the total obtained samples are 50 companies and after the selecting process a sample acquired 88 data samples. This result of this research indicate that Return on Equity has significant effect on stock returns, Earnings Per Share has significant effect on stock returns and Debt to Equity Ratio do not has significant effect on stock returns./ Return saham sangat penting karena merupakan salah satu faktor yang memotivasi investor untuk berinvestasi dan penghargaan atas keberanian investor untuk menanggung risiko investasi yang mereka lakukan. Di pasar saham, tidak selalu merupakan pengembalian yang menjanjikan bagi investor. Oleh karena itu, return saham akan sangat menarik sebagai variabel terikat dalam penelitian ini karena dapat menjadi acuan bagi para investor yang ingin menanamkan modalnya pada perusahaan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh Return on Equity, Earning Per Share dan Debt to Equity Ratio terhadap Return Saham. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan manufaktur sub sektor industri barang konsumsi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) selama periode tahun 2017 sampai dengan tahun 2020. Berdasarkan metode purposive sampling, jumlah sampel yang diperoleh adalah 50 sampel data dan setelah proses pemilihan sampel diperoleh 88 perusahaan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Return on Equity berpengaruh signifikan terhadap return saham, Earning Per Share berpengaruh signifikan terhadap return saham dan Debt to Equity Ratio tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap return saham.
