Abstract

Academic discourses focusing on one’s attitudes towards death tend to be limited, especially in the Indonesian context. This study aims to explore the relationship between religious orientation to their attitude towards death. Survey was conducted to 363 participants aged 19-40 years old (Mage = 22.06; SD = 4.60), utilizing the Indonesian version of Death Anxiety Scale (DAS) and the Religious Orientation Scale (ROS). The study showed that extrinsic religiosity is positively correlated with death anxiety, while intrinsic religiosity is not significantly correlated with death anxiety. The study provides valuable insights to develop adaptive attitude towards death, specifically through religious perspective.
