Abstract

Krim pemutih terdiri dari campuran bahan kimia dan bahan lainnya yang bermanfaat dalam mencerahkan kulit dan memudarkan noda gelap pada kulit. Penggunaan hidrokuinon sering disalahgunakan dalam kosmetik sebagai bahan pemutih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah krim pemutih wajah yang terjual bebas di e-commerce mengandung hidrokuinon dan mengetahui jumlah kadar hidrokuinon yang terkandung di dalamnya. Sebanyak 6 sampel krim pemutih wajah akan diteliti dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Kandungan hidrokuinon diuji secara kualitatif menggunakan pereaksi FeCl3 dan secara kuantitatif menggunakan Serimetri, Spektrofotometri UV-Vis dan Kromatografi Gas-Spektrometri Massa (KGSM). Dari hasil uji secara Serimetri dan Spektrofotometri UV-Vis diperoleh hasil 6 sampel krim pemutih wajah yang beredar di e-commerce mengandung hidrokuinon, sedangkan pengujian secara Kromatografi Gas-Spektrometri Massa (KGSM) tidak ditemukan adanya kandungan hidrokuinon. / Whitening cream consists of a mixture of chemicals and other ingredients that are useful in lightening the skin and fading dark spots on the skin. The use of hydroquinone is often misused in cosmetics as a whitening agent. The purpose of this research are (1) to find out if the face whitening cream is sold freely in e-commerce and (2) find out the amount of hydroquinone contained in them. There are 6 samples to be examined for facial whitening creams by using Purposive Sampling method. The testing of hydroquinone content is quantitative testing Serimetry, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS). The results of Serimetry and UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, 6 samples of facial whitening cream circulating in e-commerce contain hydroquinone, while the Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrscopy (GC-MS) test did not find any hydroquinone content.
